It's been around 0 F (like -17 C?) again. Of course it was just like 50 F and then it got really windy and dropped overnight last week. I think it was last week. In other news, I just re-seated my new cooler (Scythe Mugen 4 PCGH Edition, looks beautiful), first time was a failure cause it didn't apply even pressure so it only covered 2/3 of the CPU's IHS (I f***ed up). But now that I mounted it the right way, I thought I may as well run a benchmark on stock 800RPM fans to see how well it works, and so I did. After 3 hours of running Prime95 blend test across all 8 cores on stock voltage (1.320V @4.2GHz), highest measured temperature on the CPU was 34.7oC, while it idles at 7.4oC (pstate level 1). My room temperature was 26.4oC, give or take ~0.5oC, which means the cooler is keeping the CPU only 8-9oC over ambient temperature, all the while being inaudible. Not bad for a $50 cooler (in US, it's actually ~$72 in Croatia), and it'll work much better once my order of 2x120mm Scythe GlideStream 1200RPM fans arrives. :woot: Edited January 23, 2014 by Werne Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
