Reccomended Mods for a Noob

Hey all, I am new to computer gaming and modding in general and am looking for a good starting point to enhance my experience with New Vegas! I have already beat the game multiple times on console so I know most of the ins and outs of the base game (expansions included).

I am looking for enhanced textures, faces, weapons, etc. but I have no idea where to begin! There are so many mods and updates I'm thoroughly confused.

I feel the NMM will make most installations easy for my newb self but if anyone has any suggestions for me they are welcome!

I'm looking forward to using the Nexus extensively (bought lifetime premium, gotta make it worth it!) and talking to all you who mod as well.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome Bucky! It's truly all up to you what you want but I will recommend a few things. If you are wanting to go big with HiRes textures there are a couple, I myself use most of them together mix n match to get the look I want.

You WILL need FNV4gb for HD texture overhauls http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55061/? this is for the Steam Version.

Lot of mods will require NVSE http://nvse.silverlock.org/

NMC's overhaul is huge http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43135/?

Poco Beuno http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42028/?

Ojo Beuno http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39755/?

Project Nevada http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40040/? if you want a brand new experience this is the mod for you! (bullet time, sprint, etc)

EVE Essential Visual Enhancements http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42666/?

WME Weapon Mod Expansion http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37576/?

Keep in mind you have to use all appropriate patches if required for the mods you use so read everything thrice! Else you face the dreaded annoying CTD!

Good Luck,

Geoff

EDIT - As an added note there really isn't a such thing as beginner mod (that I have noticed lol) the simplest mods can throw people through a loop. With that said the simplest things to do are just adding textures but I'm guessing you want something more so as I said above just read the info thoroughly, no scanning you'll get the hang of it and again Welcome!

I'd check the 100 most endorsed mods section under files, those are commonly known as the best mods here. But it doesn't stop their, just search anything you want with the nexus' search engine, be it new quests, armor, etc. I'd recommend NVEC (new vegas enhanced content) and TTW (tale of 2 wastelands, if you have fallout 3).
