SayinNuthin
Question, does the 'NV-Uncut' mod do anything for companions incidental remarks? The reason I pretty much only use Boone or ED-E is because they stay shtum. And a 'Stealth-field' upgrade mod to explain why no-one can see ED-E the flying suitcase when I'm sneaking wouldn't hurt the plausibility thing... greenknightfury
My favourite companion of all time is Christine, by far - she's one of the very few characters I've ever become legitimately emotionally attached to in a game, and I became very protective of her. My feelings were only further cemented by her audio logs in Old World Blues. However, since she's not really available as a companion in the main game (mods exist, but they're buggy as hell), I use Willow (who I maintain is the single best-done companion mod out there), usually in conjunction with someone else (currently Delilah). So no love for Christine's estranged gf Veronica? I agree that Willow is the best, with Delilah a close second (though anything that messes up the dog in Delilah's mod turns your game into solid crashes, the hours spent in Geck editing mods to make sure they don't conflict with that mod), though in some of my playthroughs I have a whole army, like one of my current playthroughs Craze. He is a mad scientist/robot expert (Mad Science! and Robco Certified) slowly building an army of lobotomites and interesting robots. ED-E, Delilah and his Cyberroach Skitters being his only constant companions (Willow is along as well but gets sent back to the bungalow sometimes). But to answer the OPs question, I play both as the loner and as companion loving characters. Edited July 18, 2014 by greenknightfury

There is one, can't remember what it is, but when you sneak he goes stealth.
FabianBogart
I usually like playing on my own the most. If I'm going up against something big I like bringing companions though. I also must say, the vanilla companion that I enjoyed the most (including DLCs) was ED-E from Lonesome Road. Idk why but he had something about him that just made Lonesome Road MUCH more enjoyable to me. Perhaps it was that touch of there being somebody who has your back and that you have someone to talk to even in the most f*#@ed up environments. Also, his backstory was just goddamn adorable. AtomicCowboy
I normally start a playthrough by heading to Black Mountain and finding Raul. I haven't really bothered with any other companions besides him. 'Sides, Raul is awesome.
Purify111
There is one, can't remember what it is, but when you sneak he goes stealth. ED-E Stealth Module I personally really like having companions with me.Each is just unique and interesting to learn more about them and when they comment on something you have done with the main plot(and sometimes when you enter certain area/talk to certain people wish it had more of that) it makes the game more realistic and it doesn't seem as if they don't care about anything about you and all they would want is for their personal quest to get finished and then get dumped.Having all companions at the same time wouldn't feel right to me specially when even two make the game quite easy but the only thing that sort of bothered me is that i can't have two living companions. It must be one living and one mechanical.I don't know if there's a mod that changes that.Maybe this can be achieved with the unlimited comapanion mod but anyway my fave would be Veronica. She loves to punch stuff but never gets close enough to actually hit them. XD A combination of Veronica,ED-E and Sunny Smiles in that order is my recipe for a real fun time .^^ Edited August 19, 2014 by Purify111
VileTouch
i used to lug around the vanilla companions...in fact there was a time i carried 4 of them! (for the intersecting dialogue triggers) ...but then i met Willow and all that changed <3 now the rest of my companions spend most of their time in the companion room of underwater home. (lucky thirty what?...what's that?)
samftrmd
Companions until their quest is finish. Then just solo or keep one only. Due to AI problem, path finding, friendly fire, scoop blocking...
Mariofan17
I play as a loner until I get a companion. Then I stick with that companion for pretty much the whole game. I usually have ED-E,Veronica and Cass as my companions.
LOL50015
Companions FTW, unlike in other games, companions here really helpout. I have ED-E for its multitools and ammo creator and Boone for his spotter perk, nice for long range. Against weak enemies like the fiends, geckos, scorpions, powder gangers and certain ghouls I just hide in a corner a let them clean house. It conserves ammo this way. I only help when they got too close or there's too many of them.
