Do the men watch the women,do the women watch the men,I watch the men but do they watch me?Does she wtch women,do they watch her?We look but don't seeor we look and do see,but can we see what they see?all are different but all the sameist it possible for us to be so? that'l get the little grey cells working, it has mine for what on earth do I mean? o_O To Herculine: Thank you little fairy but i still not certain what triigered me to write that last one, admitedly had been sitting at a cafe watching the world go by. Perhaps this particular piece stems from your subconscious; the poem of a dreaming mind.

It was like you wrote it for me.

LordTenaim
WHy when you first fall for a guy they seem great, but after awhile they seem weirdthen before you know ithe's got someone else on the sidethen you see someone elsefar hotter then your old flameyou leave for the hotter guythen you start the process again. Yet somewhen do you not findthat perfect guy who has everything you wantwho wants you as much as you want himthat guy who lifts you up with a smilethat guy who is there when you're sadthat guy who cares not about your mistakesand if makes mistakes you can easily forgive but will it lastcan it lastwe can hope and tryfor as much as we are loyalare we not as ficklefor our minds play gamesour eyes lookand we change what ever else may be. No that comes from watching people around town, those people who with someone else being held in their arms are looking and another guy or seen another chick.
Herculine
I love this poem as well. It is so true that we humans are never satisfied with what we have and always want something else.
Maharg67
One reason is that we are always being fed false social ideas of what we should want from TV, from romance fiction, from pornography... so men want always to be proven 'macho' so women are always looking for 'something better to come along' at 48 I am slowly learning to look deeper into myself to find a base of happiness there I have no miracle answers but if you can't be true to your self, who can you be true to? LordTenaim
I must admit Maharg that what you say is correct but at times I also think that it has something to do with us and not getting truely what we need in a commpanion because we don't understand ourselves, but once I reach your age or buddhas maybe I will have been able to atleast understand myself and I want or crave(poss. the correct term) in the partner for me or I may find I need not one single partner. :thanks: Here is an inscription I was recently asked to put on a wooden saxon battle axe. +++ Sam Made Me +++ I Move Straight And True +++ To Hack And Hew Is What I Do +++ The Power Is Yours +++ But Take Heed +++ Misuse Me Not +++ Or Your Doom I Will Be +++ I must admit it looks better in Norse runes in side a knot work snake but it is a fitting inscription for an axe head. What do you the readers think? can it be improved?
species5478
Lord Tenaim, your poem strikes like a dagger to the heart. It's true in so many ways. Romance seems to be the focus, but I believe your theme applies to all kinds of social interactions. Friends for instance, are guilty of the same selfishness. Some are always looking for someone more attentive, giving, or popular and can never be satisfied with those they have. The same can be applied to some jobs where your boss is always looking for a better hotshot, or "secretary". I think that's why nature implements age. Because in the end, all vanity is subdued by the hands of time.
