Spiralunix
 So I like many body mods that change bodies in this game. I just started playing Oblivion about a month ago and I am by no means a mesher or modder and I never will be...just not my thing. So I would really like to ask the experienced meshing/modding community this: I like BABS, and Eye Candy, and HG Eye Candy, and Growlf's hot body, and the Team Fantasy bodies.... is there any way to use all of these in my game without having the newest body I download replace the last? I want to use ALL of these bodies and the modded clothes made for them on my NPCs and CM partners, not just one! OR maybe a way to have just one main body and have the clothing for the other bodies work right when I put them on myself or another character so that it temporarily changes their body type just while the clothing is on? :thanks:
AncientSpaceAeon
Maybe it's possible, since Argonian and Khajiit's body is different than the others. But as far as my limited knows, I think there is only one body for each race. P.S : I'm not an user of those mods.

AncientSpaceAeon
Isn't argonian and khajiit have different body types ? Isn't it possible to create a new race which had their own body ? So each mods add new race which their own seperate body types that the mod adds. (so at least the new race NPC can be a companion)
bben46
To add to the explanations. This is a limitation of the game engine that many many modders have tried to get around. So far with not much success. Another problem you run into with this idea is that clothing (including armor) is one size only, and must be redone for each body type. So you will have to include clothing for each body type, and a new name (another major headache) for each piece of clothing for each body type. Multiply the number of individual clothing pieces, including all of the mods by the number of body types to get a small idea of the problems involved. Then each piece in that number has to have an individual id in the game. and some script that lets you know what piece fits which body. The more items and the more scripts the game engine has to deal with, the slower the game will run. We are already straining the capabilities of current computer hardware with the game as it is. As the capabilities of the hardware improve, we will see more features like this in newer games. One thing that many non programmers do not realize is that clothing is not placed over a body, it actually replaces the body part that it covers - so when your character puts on a shirt, the body does not exist under the shirt. Then when they take it off, the body is loaded from memory and redrawn in place of the shirt. So if you have a fat NPC, he must have all fat clothing to go with that body - if the game allows him to put on a standard shirt, he will become skinny. This a very simplified explanation, it can become much more complicated when you add in movement and physics. A skinny character can go through places where a fat one cannot for example. Hopefully Bethesda will come up with a better system in the next Elder Scrolls.
SavageArtistry
I use the FF body but I also use some HGEC armors. One of the things I do to get around texture errors is find armors that would look all right if instead of skin showing, a leather body suit would work. I've taken an HGEC skin, reworked it into several leather colors and replaced the skin texture areas in these various armors with the leather body suit. Another thing I've done for the armors which don't look right without the exposed skin (think ballgowns with the arms and shoulders showing) is to move the wireframe around to a different location on the FF skin texture. It's not perfect and would look horrible on Khajiit or Argonians, but it works fairly well on races with solid color skin tones. I still prefer a proper conversion over these methods however. The point is there are ways to deal with it but they are kind of complicated.
Unavi
what about that mod that let's you change a NPC's body type? It works quite well but changing the body for each npc manualy can be tedious XD

You can use Bab as your base and remap the body parts for the TFF and HGEC clothing mods that you want to use. I have a mod on nexus that shows you how to do this. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21592 It is very easy to do, however, if your are totally new to this sort of thing it might be more work than you want to do. 8)
Crimsanity
what about that mod that let's you change a NPC's body type? It works quite well but changing the body for each npc manualy can be tedious XDAye, but it only changes their shape, not the textures. It uses the base texture you have installed for each body. Besides, it only really works when nude, and unless you want all your NPCs in their birthday suits, not that practical.
