I have a problem

Just lately, I've been having trouble getting Oblivion to run. Now that I managed to get it running, I've found out that most of the shops in the Market district seem to be closed!

I'm running Oblivion, patched to v1.2.0416 (I don't run SI), I also have OBMM 1.1.12 ( for this I used the "obmm_1_1_12_full_installer-2097.zip") and OBSE 0017b. Whilst I have Plggy v125b, I am not using it as I only have one mod that needs it, and this is not in the game.

Thinking this may be along the lines of the Frostcrag Spire/Battlehorn castle problem, I tried that patch, but the programme just refused to start, so it was removed. I am using several mods - OMDS in fact, as well as one or two texture replacers.

One thing I did do was to load tthe two latest unnoficilal mod patches - is it possible they may be conflicting with each other? These are "Unofficial_Oblivion_Patch_v3_2_0_Installer_Version-5296.exe" and "Unofficial_Official_Mods_Patch_v15_Installer_Version-9969.exe", they are designed to patch any bugs in the official plugins - I only run 7 of the 9 - the two I leave out are "Wizards Tower" (aka Frostcrag Spire) and "Vile Lair".

At the same time I have put in place another mod for Battlehorn Castle - it's an enhancement to the castle "BattleHorn_Advanced_V3-16712.zip".

Has anyone any ideas on what may be going wrong?

If I do have to unlock the doors, what code do I use?

I've looked at Kyoma's journal Mod, but that seemed to run OK, it's only recently that it appears to be crashing the game. Funnily enough, it's only when I began to use OMOD's to put into the game via OBMM that I've had any problems.

Because of that, I've decided to load the plugins individually by hand , NOT via OMOD; I also decided on an extra change, I was using the Saddlebags' -Where is My Horse - Horse Whisperer mod, but apparently this patches DLC Horse Armour Patch, so I've found the three mods, Call Steer, Dude Where did I Park My Horse and one of the Saddlebags mods - each of these will be a separate plugin, NOT a patch to one of the DLC plugins.

Added to this, I think the two patches I was using to patch the DLC patches may have conflicted, so it may be wise to just use one of them, or none at all initially.

EDIT: I've managed to get it working, but I still have a problem. I'm getting conflicts galore - in fact they were NOT there prior to all these problems! One of the by-products of these conflicts is that because I cannot resolve them without taking all the mods off, I end up with being stuck on a low resolution (640 x 480). I have tried changing this to a better one, (1024 x 768) but the game just crashes on exit, so will not allow any amendment to the resolution!

i know its been mentioned, but have u tried a reinstall? seeing as you dont run many mods, this may fix it. Uninstalling will not get rid of your mods, and should leave your saves alone, but just in case make a backup. if the reinstall yields no success, then it is one of the few mods you have installed. just deactivate them and see if the game changes the doors. if so, then reactivate them until the door lock again. there is your problem mod.

Unfortunately I have quite a few mods (about 20 or so).

However a little light has begun to dawn; I haven't gone to Weynon Priory yet - with restarting the game I've ended up re-doing the whole first section. I also decided to do the side-quest "Unfriendly competition"; and as you will all know, you have to break into Argarmir's house. I've noticed that if I get caught I don't get taken to the Imperial Prison, I get taken to the castle at Bravil - once I get back all the doors seem to be back to normal again!

To be honest, I was dreading having to go through the game having to unlock the door to a store just so I could shop, so at least this seems to have been solved - at least for now, but I'm beginning to feel that it may be some bug that's in the game disk itself and not my mods!

Anyway if anyone wants a list of what mods I'm using, I'll gladly supply it.

20 mods isn't alot. The game allows like 255 mods (ive also seen people say 254?). I think Im running around 90 or so at the moment.

To unlock something in game, as a cheat, hit your tilda (~) key to pull up the console, click on the door and type unlock and hit enter. Hit your tilda key again to leave the console.

As I said In my last post, there seems to be some conflict between being caght by a member of the Imperial City Watch, and ending up at Bravil! As a result the door to the store no longer need to be unlocked (during normal shopping hours).

I am wondering ig it is not the number of mods I'm running but the actual game disk. I don't want SI - I just plain don't like it and it doesn't seem to make much sense. I AM running 7 of the 9 official mods, as well as quite a few others. As I stated in my last post, I will if anyone asks, give a list of all the various mos I run.

One thing that has got me wondering though, In the Market District (the same side that the Best Defence is in) there seems to be a Mage's Guild portal - what put it there I don't know, There are 2 mods I have recently added, and I

As I said In my last post, there seems to be some conflict between being caught by a member of the Imperial City Watch, instead of being taken to the Imperial Prison you (mysteriously) go to Bravil! However, after this the doors in the Market District stores are no longer locked (during normal shopping hours).
