  1. Also, try having a look in your screen settings (resolution &c). If you have previously selected full screen and are trying to use a smaller screen instead, that could also be the answer.
  2. Hi I used to have the same problems with a mod I was writing for Morrowind; however I was NOT using Morrowind Overhaul, I did notice though that I had similar errors. What I would advise is that you look at the various files involved - it seems as if there IS a file for TR nifs. It has been some time but what I did was to build all those files from scratch, creating complete new files - including new *.nif files. as well as existing mesh files. When you have built one file, (use existing mesh files and create sub-directories for them)try the files out - Once I had this down, it worked for all the rest of my mods.
  3. If you can try NOT to use Staem - especially for modding! Are you using a Steam version of the gmae or what? It is very much easier if you load the game seperately, do your modding on that and then trasfer the mod to Steam (I don't know how but Steam may be able to help).
  4. Looking at your post (and that of other posters) all I can think is that your machine m,ay well have got a "computer virus" or indeed some other form of malware. The best I can advise is to find your Morowind saves (you should be able to find then in the Morrowind folder); then put them somewhere else - if you only have one drive, use a flash drive to put them on (If you have one). Next Uninstall Morrowind - thoroughly - making sure you have remove all hard drive entries as well as all registry entries - For Instance I use System Mechaninc, but you only need a good system that will clean, format and optimise your registry. As far as the hard disk is concerned - if I remember correctly, you have to manually remove the final few files yourself.. If this is the case, a good disk defragmenter is usefull and should be used at this point, next re-install the Morrowind gmae and then the save files. You should now find it works OK.
  5. Unfortunately, as far I can determine there is no way forwaard if you go via Steam. That system seems to keep all your settings for the game and loads them when you load the game. However, there is another way, if you are using a retail version of Morrowind (such as the GOTY); providing it is NOT a Steam version, you should be able to load it as a conventional game, and put in your required key bindings and so on as you desire. A word of caution though, follow the steps below before installing the game: Defragment your drive(s), this is especially important if you have not done so for a while.Run a good Anti-virus system.Re-boot the system and away you go.
  6. Hi! Themisive, thanks for the response. The antivirus program I use is VIPRE and is suposed to be very good. I have downloaded many mods from this site and this is the first time I get message of a Trojan Virus. This mod was downloaded from the Nexus, which I very much trust and the reason why I posted this message. Is it possible that someone can upload viruses into the site? Once again, many thanks The short answer to this is Yes. If someone has a system that is infected, they could easiy infect the website without your knowing of it - this even more of a problem if as is possible some people do not even try to use the anti-virus systems they have!
  7. This is a problem that I have encountered repeaedly. Firstly, I don't know waht anti-virus system you use. Also where are you getting the downloads from? Is it a file-sharing website? If it is the latter there is no wonder that you anti-virus system picks upp trojans - those sites are notorious for them. Have a look at reputable downlad sites. I'm quite sure you'll find what you're after there.
  8. Yes; I think your problem is caused by (probably) that Texture fix you added. Take it off and the system should run as normal - One other thing, please after you remove texture fix, do couple of other things, re-start your computer also run a good defrag proramme. If you havn;t got one, a good one is Diskeeper 2011 with Hyperfast - check on Google for Diskeeper
  9. Iv'e seen this problem beofere! That being said, my system is configutrtrd to ro run at netly 14GHz! All I can advise you to do is to the following; Defrag your hard drivev(S),Check all HD2s as well as any otherprogrmeses (especially ones onloaded) for viruses and malware.
  10. I think I see your problem, unfortunately this is NOT new prbelm! Unfortunately you don't say what version of Tamierl you have, as soon as you give me this info (use a PM) I'll get back to you
  11. I agree. this a common problem and is easily sorted out by uninstalling the original programme. If when you re-install the programme, this fault continues, check the registry for old files and remove them REMEMBER TO BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY BEFORE ALTERING IT!
  12. I full;y realise this, however I am trying to help some who is new to the system!
  13. The best way is to see if you can get this mod for steam. In your case I would certainly contact them to find out.
  14. I use both Morrowind GOTY and Oblivion, but there is one issue that people fail to take into account. Remember that Morrowind was Bethesda's FIRST foray into the windows system. prior to that it had all been on MS/DOS. Yes I know the graphics aren't as good as they could be; however you have a great storyline. If you can I suggest removing MGSO and just play the game as it is, and make your mods to suit that. If not I suggest removing all traces from your machine and then defrag it. Reboot and , DON'T use any other programmes like MGSE or MGSO. Granted by the time Oblivion came out there were vast improvements in the graphics, though the storyline suffered. To be honest, instead of trying to make an old game similar to Oblivion, just play it as it is.
  15. There's simple answer to your problem - I;ve had this before so I know the answer. What I tend to do is use the afternoon to make a mod, then in the evening i actually play the game. However there is a drawback. Quite simply as you use various files [especially the zip files] they tend to degrade. The simple answer is one I was scratching my head over until I asked for help. The person who replied suggested I use this particular defrag programme. It is Defrag 2, free and fast. Use it either before you play the game or after you have been making a mod. In either case I suggest using a really good defrag programme at least once a week ( use Diskeeper). With either programme you can select the disk(s) you wish to defrag - or even files!
  16. OK I quite understand; but you must realise that I and others like me need to know the operating parameters of your laptop! We need to know the processor speed, the number of cores. the amount of RAM you have, details of your graphics and sound cards, it would also be a good idea to let us know of your PSU details. I fully appreciate you have played games before, but have you taken note ot the new games power requirements? Often it is a good idea to look int this sort of thing rior to purchasing a game. I use a PSU system that a present gives 550W, but I can increase zxthat to kive 1000E (1KW)! However my system does not yet require this upgrade to the PSU. And I am well able to monitor my system's performance. The machine I an using at present is a midi-tower pc, using Windows 7 Professional, a quad-core CPU and a VERY good graphics card - the sound is on-board but the motherboard is ASUS. I suggest you look at my profile, you will see ALL my computer spes there. Anyway, check the games you have and see if they are compatible with your machine; remember some games do NOT work with other O/S'x, Windows 7 has a system that allows a game that plays on Windows XP to be played via an "emulation" system. I have looked at your profile; there are no notes there with regard to your computer. By the ame token, if you look at my profile you will see ALL the daat of my computer to hand.
  17. I think your problem can be overcome quite simply. You appear to be using a laptop machine. These are fine, but DON'T use them for games - you will have the same problems you have just described! Have you got a PC .of your own, if you have, it doesn't matter if you use bit systems as long as the games you use are compatible with it. As you have discovered, laptops do not easily conect to th internet; however PC's DO. I would suggest you transfer your game to a PC as soon as possible, using your laptop for games as little as possible.
  18. Hi titanib I'm not quite sure what you want. Before ANY real help can be given I or others need to see what your system is, what processor, graphics card , sound card, and most important of all your O/S (is it 32 bit or 63 bit)?
  19. I know you will probably think me more than a little over cautious, but it seems that not all Morrowind has loaded correctly. Are you running via STEAM of from a DVD RON? If the latter uninstall, defrag your system (if you can optimise it as well) reboot and then reload the game, you should now be able to run it. If you have a STEAM version of the game it's a bit more complex, remove Morrowind from your library [right click on the title then look down to the bottom option "delete from local content", select this]. Now defrag (and optimise the PC as before) reboot the computer and re-download the game. This should sort the problems out for you.
  20. What mods are you running? I found that with Morrowind it was best to stick to the official mods and leave others out like MGE.
  21. I know it's probably nothing, but try removing the MGO, you never know it may well help. Personally I'm not a great fan of these "Helper"programmes for the very reason that though they do help clear one thing up, they stop others working!
  22. Glad you managed to get it sorted out, the original problem probably lay with a dirty CD or DVD! Instead of spending cash, why not try a clean soft cloth if you efer have this problem again.
  23. I see your problems However there are two - one you may not have thought of. 1 Please do NOT use Text-Speak. Not everyone understands it and it's a lot easier to get a reply if you just use normal English.2 Remember that not all people can use text, in that case most don't want too. In fact it took me about 15 minutes to decipher the message you posted.Anyway I presume you have just left the prison ship and have left the office. If you ransack the place (it's OK no-one will interrupt you) and you can also sleep downstairs near the brewing keg. Go to the shop and seel all the goods you stole (and buy as much arout as possible) before you tackle that cave. If you have problems, try going to Balmora and getting good armour.as well as training THEN go back to the cave. As an alternative, try these cheats
  24. I have looked for scripting tutorials for some time, but all I can see are the ones on the Wiki site. That is until recently, I was going through some web pages and found a set of links to various tutorials. Unfortunately I can only remember one, that is "Scripting for Dummies", but I remember there were 8 or 9 altogether. One of the things I need to do is to find out why various lines are indented in different sections of the script. However the script I have obtained from Wiki shows what I mean it is entitled "Example of completed script". Whilst I can build mods, I cannot populate them with characters not voice-code them, but hopefully these script tutorials will help, as for voice-coding - that's another problem I have to solve.
  25. I agree with your outlook As I have found, Adobe (both Photoshop and Acrobat) tend to be extremely expensive. The reason I wanted a lossless graphics file is so if I decided to publish the document as a PDF file, I would not have troubles with compatibility issues. I have published quite a few PDF files on my my website - all have JPEG illustrations - and without fail I get an error warning with respect to these files. My site is devoted to various game walkthroughs and there is a link to the Adobe site, as all you need to read these files is the fre Adobe Acrobat Reader! The URL for my site is is My link ,. I hope you find this area to your needs
