hi-res texture patches... (problem)

Hi.. I'm new to this modding stuff; yesterday I installed a lot of texture patches to improve visual quality of the game (I generally preferred neilmc's max-res textures). Actually everything is okay; game runs perfectly smooth, no stuttering at all but I have a different problem. The problem is, game locks-up after a while of playing, when changing places (like entering into megaton from wasteland) it freezes in the loading screen... I had no problem when I was playing unmodded.

Anybody have an idea why that might happen? I have a high-end machine(intel Q9650, 4gb ram, 1gb GTX 285...) and problems like low ram etc. shouldn't be the problem.

ps. I don't know if this is the right section to open this topic...

It's probably just a coincidence that it started showing up with the texture mods, but you could try removing them and see for sure.

There allegedly are people who don't have this problem, but I've never seen them IRL, nor am I convinced that they aren't just Bethesda and/or Gamebryo shills trying to keep their jobs. I suppose it is possible to have a rig so well suited to the game that it will convincingly run for 3 or 4 hours without incident most of the time, but I've seen this game throw fits of crashing and freezing that have firmly convinced me that there is something seriously wrong with this implementation of the software that cannot be worked around.

Bethesda hasn't exactly been open to us on this issue, either. It is true that they hired Matt Grandstaff to run interference on the official forums, but I can't say I'm impressed with his redundant notifications or his unresponsiveness to geniune concerns. It goes without saying that an scathing complaint (no matter how honest and heartfelt it is) will be ignored and probably be subjected to extreme pro-Bethesda trolling. You need not take my word for it. Just look here:

There are literally hundreds of threads with this same kind of complaint that go unanswered (or contain disappointing "advice"). Is that not enough silence to speak volumes?

Of course, maybe I'm wrong. I'm completely open to anyone who has better advice that the ones already offered:

The community is interested in resolving all these issues, but I have yet to see any sign that Bethesda representatives even acknowledge them, let alone are interested in fixing them.

I changed the textures with the "high" ones instead of mega's, it seems like the problem is solved... But this is completely bullshit, why would a perfect working game locks without any reason..? My physical ram wasn't even near full capacity while playing, only 65-70% (checking from g15 keyboard)

I would've tried this mod;

but my game is an orginial copy and I'm using live.

Ridiculous isn't it. I use QTP3 in Oblivion without any issues, add a few textures to this and it falls apart. I'm not interested in GFWL so using the Large Address Aware Enabler wasn't an issue for me, I use FOSE as well so it made no difference anyway. Given a choice between FOSE mods, the Large Address Aware Enabler and GFWL then I know what gets my vote.
