Freakhaloman
I have 4-5 mods running but every thing was fine then. I changed nothing between when I last played and now. I've tried restarting my computer but to no success.
Zephyr2011
It could be that something OUTSIDE of oblivion is causing this to happen for example a virus or an update to a program that runs when it shouldn't although what is most likely the root of the problem is a conflict in your load order or you have added a mod and simply forgotten, my advice is to download OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) and use the conflict detector and that should tell you what's wrong. Occasionally my game crashes repeatedly as well and I just have to keep reloading it sometimes scripts can execute in strange or improper ways but this should sort itself out in due time if it is the cause (just keep launching it) Hope I was of help

I've tried restarting my computer but to no success.first verify if you don't have an ESM deactivated (assuming you haven't removed anything)if not, try renaming the Oblivion.ini at (my) Documents\....\Oblivion. The game will build another, but any tweak you may have done to it (or some mod may did) will be lost. Normally it should be not more annoying than reconfiguring video. Freakhaloman
I am using OBMM. I turned of the mods and it worked again. So in all likelihood I had a conflict. I'll try the conflict
