Just to clarify;

Dual: You have a dual, like your dual-core processor. You have a duel, well let's get ready for some Mortal Kombat.

Satin: You have a weird fashion if you dress your satin dress up in human flesh. Guess it's an odd tendency in the Wastelands. Oh but my friend you mean Satan was dressed in human flesh! Oh my, that's a terrible image! Well, it's crazy what a little Psycho will do to your imagination sometimes.

Other than that, and a few other corrections, it seems good. Of course these are diary entries written from two characters' points of view, so there are some exceptions due to their voicing. I'm just adding a few things because this is being made into a mod.

Oh, but the story! The plot! The character development! The images! The fact that I'm sitting here even now cussing at the computer screen in disbelief at where this all left off wondering, What in some unholy unknown universe is Marie doing with the Mythic Dawn? Amazing.

Ha! I went a little over-the-top with that. Yeah I read this whole thing yesterday and you show true talent in your writing and character and plot-development. This is like the best parts to a movie. There's a lot I could say; the climax is always the most mind-blowing part of a good story, and I think you've just about reached it. What blew my mind prior to that though was your connection(s) between Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Of course, the Mythic Dawn part is far more enigmatic, but the thought that these two worlds could be conjoining in some way, was so original and you approached it so well. At first, what with all the Psycho, the thought that Oblivion, or the whole idea of Nirn at that could just be the thoughts of some insane man really struck me... oh wait... there's something real beyond Oblivion...

This is one of those magical gems of this subforum. Some of the writers here post some fascinating and unique styles of writing and ideas, when I'm reading the right thing at the right time. I don't find anything this interesting on poetry or prose forums, that's why I go here.

OK, >END RANT<

Thanks for posting, and I cannot wait for more!

Sorry for the delay guys, but I had to take care of some other business. Now that I'm back, you can expect the same as before. I should be able to have a new entry posted every weekend, until Diary of the Dead is finished.

To Ahmad Awad: Thank you for taking the time to try building a mod based on my story. I'm not sure if you've posted something longer than the version you sent me a few weeks back but in either case, thanks! I'll definitely testi out the mod to see what you accomplished. It's endearing to know that you've taken the time to do something like that and I hope your New Cairo mod finds great success!

To Herculine: Oh you're as sweet as pumpkin pie! Thanks for always being supportive. It's appreciated.

To The Black Ninja: I respect you attention to detail. I often only have the time to glance over the entries once or twice before posting them, and since nobody in my house reads anything longer than the DVR menu list, the only eyes I have are those here on the nexus. I'll go back and edit those mistakes, and let me know if you find anything else. Thanks for your supportive words too! Since I can't mod, (but have downloaded hundreds of mods) I felt compelled to add something to the nexus that others can enjoy

And to everyone else whose taken the time to read this, both newbie and vet, poster and non poster, thank you.

November 27th 5:30 am

When Marie and I locked eyes, I noticed instant happiness followed by a stern and forewarning glance. She waved me away with her hand while trying her best not to draw attention from those she'd apparently befriended.

"Jacob…"

"I see her Endo. Don't act. Something's not right."

The Mythic Dawn had become personal enemies of mine. Python tried sacrificing my daughter on behalf of this malicious cult and even though I'd spent every subsequent moment trying to find them, there seemed no trace of their existence. Their sudden and violent intrusion into my life was followed by an abrupt disappearance more vague than a ghostly whisper. Damn…I'm starting to sound like Seki. But it was true. No one throughout the entire Wastes seemed to know who they were. It was as if the Mythic Dawn didn't exist and yet, here they were.

"I don't know what you mean by a 'sacrifice'," I said trying to ignore Marie. "But I can't allow any of my men to die for sadistic reasons."

"My reasons are anything but sadistic." Sindis Codiantus said with such surety, I was inclined to believe him. He calmly stepped to the edge of the rafter and folded his hands as he looked down on us with vulture eyes. "You have no control here. No power. No hope of negotiating terms. You can either do as I say, or suffer a crippling death."

The same freed man who tried superseding my command stepped forward after cocking his weapon. "I don't know who you think you are, but if you don't let me pass, I'll kill you."

Sindis smiled evilly, and then nodded. "Go ahead and try."

"Get back in formation!" I ordered, but he didn't listen. The freed man raised his weapon and as he pulled the trigger, the entire room went unnaturally dark. I could hear my men cocking their weapons and crouched as a howling sound sprang up from the center of the room. "On me!" I ordered a second too late. Out of what appeared to be thin air, arose a flash of bulbous light and in that briefly illuminated moment, I glimpsed the snarling face of some kind of hellish beast far more gruesome than the Deathclaws we slaughtered earlier.

Some of my men fired their weapons as the beast snatched up the belligerent freed man and began ripping him apart. My face was spattered with blood as the winking muzzle flashes cast only fleeting glances of the ensuing carnage. The creature howled ferociously as it stomped through the darkness shaking the room with tremulous footsteps. I could hear the mangling of flesh as men shrieked in terror and just as it seemed the creature was upon me, Sindis began chanting some archaic tongue until all went quiet. When light returned to the room, the mysterious creature was gone and the tattered remains of a body littered the floor and walls.

"Only the one was killed." Sindis said with a smirk. "Now as I mentioned earlier, I require only a single sacrifice. If you refuse me this time, then I will kill all of your men. What will it be?"

I had no idea what just happened, and could feel everyone's eyes focus on me as tension filled the room. I knew that I had to give somebody up. But who? There seemed only one logical choice.

"Endo, come here."

"Sir…your orders?"

"Help me take off this power armor."

"But, why?"

"You're in command now and I doubt these men are going to sacrifice me with power armor on. You might as well have it. Take the men, and get out here."

"Let me stay. I should be sacrificed, not you."

"You know why I can't do that."

Endo pulled closer and whispered, "You're the smart one. How am I going to mount a rescue mission? You should be on the outside, not me."

"Not this time. I'm not losing Marie again. And don't bother coming back for me. That maniac up there will murder everyone if you do. I don't know how he managed to kill that man and until I can find out what happened here, we have to give him what he wants."

"I can't walk away…"

"Just hold up in the tunnels for a few days." I whispered sternly. "I'll see if I can escape with Marie."

"You might not have a few days."

"Trust me," I said tapping the Krivbehknih, "I have a feeling Sindis wants this book more than he wants a sacrifice. When I let him know that we've got the Krivbehknih, he'll probably be more than willing to trade for it. Get the book out of here and hide it. It'll be my bargaining chip. Now give me your clothes and take this armor. I'm hiding the book in the breastplate and I don't want Sindis to see it."

Once we exchanged gear I waited as a large sewer door to my left was opened, and my men were escorted away. When a second door on my right was unlocked, Sindis waved me inside and I reluctantly followed his lead. Just before entering, I noticed Marie scampering away from the corner of my eye and prayed that I'd be able to find my way to her.

The passageway was dimly lit with archaic looking candles and didn't appear to be an original part of the building. My nostrils were assaulted by the smell of rotting meat but not the human kind. The scent was reminiscent of moldy rat carcasses and the light cracking of mammal bones beneath my boots confirmed at least that much. There were two men waiting for me on the opposite end of the passage and I casually dropped my pistol into an open hollow before reaching them. As expected, they checked me for weapons before I was lead into an underground cavern studded with stalactites encased in luminescent mold. I could hear running water somewhere in the distance but couldn't sense a draft of any sort. After probing the deepest regions of this stuffy place, I was eventually locked inside a rusty cell after getting stripped of all my clothing. The robed men quietly departed as the moans of other captives fluttered about like butterflies; coming and going without warning or sequence. After sitting in near absolute darkness for over an hour, my ears were drawn to the sound of footsteps. But not the heavy and slow variety. They were lightweight, quickly paced, and childlike…

"Dad…" A voice whispered.

"Marie?"

The light from her Pip-Boy pierced the gloom and when she found my cell, Marie quickly dropped to her knees with a bundle in her arms.

"Dad!"

"Marie!" I said shakily. After reaching through the cold bars, she hugged my outstretched arm as I planted a big sloppy kiss on her forehead. "Oh baby, I'm so sorry! I'm sorry for everything!"

"It's ok. I'm just glad to see you. I love you Dad!"

"I love you too darling but...what are doing here?" I asked with my face pressed against the bars.

"I thought you were dead…so I was trying to reach Grandpa at the Jefferson Memorial. He's working on something called a purifier. I think to make the water better. But the Mythic Dawn found me. They say that I'm a part of their clan. They call me Mother."

"Mother? Well…how did you get down here?"

"I work here. I bring the prisoners their food. These are for you." She said stuffing red robes through the bars. After looking briefly over her shoulder Marie added, "Dad, I don't like it here. These men are bad…really bad!"

"I know darling. Don't worry, I'll find a way to get us out of here."

"Please…I don't want you to be sacrificed!"

"Neither do I…and what's this sacrifice business about?"

"They're going to feed the prisoners to Mehrunes Dagon."

"I keep hearing that name…who is Mehrunes Dagon anyway?"

"I've seen him. He's huge! Like a building! He comes from the dark place. The place Mr. Codiantus calls Oblivion. There's fire and demons there."

"What? What do mean by fire and demons?"

"Mehrunes Dagon lives inside a big window that you can walk through. It goes to the Oblivion world. And it really works! I ran around the window and everything! Mr. Codiantus says he can open another window to paradise but…he needs the souls of unbelievers to do it. He makes sacrifices to Mehrunes Dagon, in order to open the way."

"I don't understand how that's possible…how does he open windows to other worlds? And how does he make sacrifices?"

"I don't know how he opens the window but when he does, Mr. Codiantus just throws people inside. Then the demons get them…"

"You've seen this happen?"

"Yup. Twice. It's sooo scary…"

"And this place of fire…this, Oblivion. What is it? What does it look like?"

"It's Hell daddy. It looks like Hell."

Thanks Shadowmadnezz. The next entry is something...darker.

Hi Herc. Yeah...I've been working on my second manuscript and haven't had much time to post anything here. No worries though. I'm back to finish this short story with a bang...
