Best way to introduce a newbie to google

If you see a post somebody makes and you bang your head and scream "why don't you just use Google to find it!!!" then please do not convey that exact feeling but instead gently nudge them by utilizing this site:

http://lmgtfy.com/

1. Go to that site

2. Type in what you want them to type and click Search

3. Copy the generated URL and paste it into a reply post.

Example Reply #1:

How to find OBSE download

Example Reply #2:

How to find Akatosh Mount to download

If you find that you use this a lot, you can save the following text somewhere that you can quickly copy/paste and simply add on the search parameters with a plus sign (+) separating each.

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=akatosh+mount+download

Have fun helping newbies level up!

Perfect! Another thing to save in the notes here :)..

Maybe you should do something like that for files search system, could be useful

adding +texnexus gets close, google knows the nexus quite well.

Because people were overusing this on the official Bethesda forums there is a censor thing in place now which automatically changes every lmgtfy link is to google.com :P

Much like how you can't say Morrowind sucks or Oblivion sucks on the forums without it changing to 'is the greatest game in the history of the universe.'.

But for some reason you are allowed to say "Fallout 3 sucks". Hmm...

I think I may have to bookmark that page.

As a newbie a big challenge was where to post a particular question about using the forums.

I got very good assistance a fair few times from other people and surprisingly enough some of those who helped me were other newbies.
