on daggerfall there were ships and wagons is there any possibility anyone might be working on alternate means of travel other than foot and horse. maybe an airship or scooter but something other than foot and horse would be nice. btw for anyone who doesnt know, daggerfall is the elder scrolls game that got me started, its the second in the series. because of this game i got morrowind and was utterly dissapointed............by the loading time, otherwise the game was great. oblivion is the best incarnation of this series in a long time.

  • 2 weeks later...

what we need is more steampunkesque like vehicles that wouldnt really be law breakers, lets leave transformers out of the game and stick to something actually plausible.

I will admit though i use midas magic and it is seriously cool but no robots, no.

If you want to get technical, its not a robot by technological standards. After all, its powered by magic.

And speaking of technology, a magic robot is more inline with Oblivion than Steampunk stuff would be due to the fact that steampunk uses technology that you wouldn't see in the era that Oblivion resembles. So, even your idea about steampunkish vehicles wouldn't be "plausible" as you put it.

So due to the time period Oblivion resembles...the only plausible vehicles would be magic vehicles (ones that are obviously magical in nature and not steampunk), and wagons, and animals.

But that aside, more vehicles would be neat. I always wanted to drive a tank... lol

Now that is farthure for plausibility than either the magic robot and the steampunk stuff combined!

Think about it dwemer wouldnt use magic coz it smells funny they would make things just like mr_siikas airship or a steam powered subway or steam powered bike, boat etc. the dwemer are or were innovative engineers not mages!!! so comeon ppl lets like create something outside the box so to speak. I would do it my self but my modding skills are comparable to that off a dead goldfish lol! I can provide designs for any ideas brought to the table but I need ppl to make them designs into mods, i mean y not pilfer some wow stuff like the steam powered chicken or something like that?

And I would like to point out that there is nothing in game that is steampowered. The dwemer did use magic. As much as they were engineers, they weren't that advanced. Atleast not past the point Oblivion represents...or esle the Dwarven weapons (or dwemer for those that use Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, like I do) wouldn't be simple swords and hammers, and a bow...they would have much more advanced weapons, like guns. But since they were not at that level yet, you could say they just had better crafting techniques that were cheaper and more effecient than that other races. But they were not more techinlogicaly advanced. In fact, the airship in game terms would actually be running off of magic, and not steam power. The best they would do as inovative engineers during this time period would be with pulleys and levers, which is already evident in the game. They would make a robot out of pulleys and gears with magic as its power source, not steampowered.
