k3v Man Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Im havin some trouble with blender . . . . I cant even open .dds or .nif files with blender and blender is very confusing
Peregrine Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 1) Of course you can't open .dds files, they're a 2d texture format. 2) To import .nif files you need the plugin for it. 3) Of course it's confusing. Learning 3d modeling is complicated and takes months of practice. There's no way to get around that.
k3v Man Posted December 14, 2005 Author Posted December 14, 2005 i have one program called animation master (which is crazy) but it wayyyyy different so your saying i cant really open a file that came with morrowind and edit it?
Peregrine Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 You can, but you will need the .nif import plugin for blender. I use 3dsmax for my own work, so I don't know where to find it... but I hear one exists. And I don't think animation master is a top-level 3d program, so of course blender is going to be more complicated.
k3v Man Posted December 14, 2005 Author Posted December 14, 2005 is 3d max free?and if it is can you give me a link and how about a link to the plugin for blender
k3v Man Posted December 14, 2005 Author Posted December 14, 2005 can anyone tell me if 3d max is free or not?
ThetaOrionis01 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Please do not repeat your question after only half an hour - this is considered spamming. No, 3Ds max is not free, but you may be able to get a trial version.
Peregrine Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 No, it's not free, or even cheap. Even with the student discount, it'll cost you $5-700, without the discount it's more like $3,500. And even if you buy it, you'll be buying for Oblivion. The Morrowind export plugin only works with versions 3, 4 and 5 (current is 8 ), none of which are sold anymore. And I already said I don't have a link for the blender plugin. You can search for it just as easily as I can.
