Problem when trying to purchase Premium.

So after years of membership I decided to show some respect and go Premium at least for a month for starters. However, when I fill my information (personal and card) I get a message that a problem has occurred. It does not specify what kind of a problem so I'm at a loss to guess what it is.

I'm paying with Visa Electron, the icons were really small but I assume that it was listed next to the "base" Visa. I've paid to various online targets with this very same card, like Steam. I tried putting the card number with and without spaces to no avail.

What's the problem? I'm afraid that I cannot pay with PayPal, I stupidly screwed up my registration back in the day and they still refuse to accept my (new) card.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry to hear you're having issues. This would be the typical response I send to users who are getting errors when paying:

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems using your card on the site.

Have you tried to use one of the other payment options available? Right now we support direct payments through the site, 2Checkout and Pay Pal. If the direct payments aren't working please try the other two. The process is very similar and you might have more luck.

The only other problem that I know of is when your debit/credit card bank is flagging the payment as fraudulent and won't allow the payment. My card does this some times and I have to ring the bank to tell them that it is indeed me, and not an identity thief, trying to purchase items, at which point they remove the block and the next payment will go through.

The problem normally arises if you're trying to pay for Premium Membership if you're not a UK resident. If you've never bought from the UK before then your bank might think it's a bit dodgy and prevent the payment.

Shame. I live in Finland and my card is from a Danish bank so that's probably the issue then. I can't use PayPal for reasons stated in OP (I tried to fix it but they never responded to me), and I hesitate to create a 2checkout account since I will most likely never use it again after this.

Guess I'll stick to regular membership then.
