ChaosConcordant
Is it pre patched with 1.7 or do you need to download that and install it seperately? I'm asking because the crash every other minute is really getting to me now.
Dhegonus
goty edition is patched to 1.7..assuming you installed all the DLC stuff on DvD2.
ChaosConcordant
I did. And great. I was hoping that they were too lazy to do that and expect the user to download the patch separately. My machine is as follows: Q66004GB 800MHz ramGeForce 260. Game crashes like crazy and sometimes I can get hours before it crashes. Any ideas why? Dhegonus
the game does crash..one of its "finer" qualities lol. nah, if it isn't like every 5 minutes, then its okay..try it with auto save off and make sure you manually save every 10-15 minutes... unfortunatley you can have the best machine in the world and the game will still crash..alternatively you can have a mediocre computer and a high end comp will crash more often.. just "luck of the draw" as it were. ChaosConcordant
Sometimes it does just crash every five minutes. I could play the game enough to enter a house and then it'll crash or I could go on a super mutant killing rampage for a few hours and everything is dandy. Dhegonus
as frank sinatra once sang "that's life..thats what all the people saaaaaaaay" *ahem* anyway, yeah..it is like when you meet the partner of your dreams..you love them despite their flaws. try turning your graphics down if you can..that "might" help alittle. Cecallred
I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 and it's much faster and smoother. Win 7 is supposed to stop errant software crashes from bringing down the entire system.... well, FO3 can still lock it to the point it takes a hard reset to bring it back up :D
GETbacon
I'm running goty and all most all complications have been made by the 1.7 pach that I MYSELF installed and had to reinstall and put on 1.6. FOOK v.2 level up bug and a weird occerance with Anchorage (fixed by running around) BUT now my game runs like a dream and I'm sooooo happy about it as a mater of fact I'm just making my runs before I boot it up
