Zmid
Well.... i though you´d be mad :rolleyes:I´m REALLY sorry :) Were are you from then? :P Scotland, the land of haggis, tartan and God's own special little drink - WHISKY!!! ;) Anyway, to give a serious answer to your question, from what little I know of physics, the matter would probably be destroyed and converted to pure energy, which would then be sucked into the black hole and spat out the other end (if there is one). Though, to be honest, I'm not really THAT knowledgeable about physics, so I could be completely wrong. :D :D :D
The_Reaper
Scotland, the land of haggis, tartan and God's own special little drink - WHISKY!!!Really?! I love Scotland! :D I heard Theta is on the loose, so i would advise you to stay indoors at night. ;) Anyway, to give a serious answer to your question, from what little I know of physics, the matter would probably be destroyed and converted to pure energy, which would then be sucked into the black hole and spat out the other end (if there is one).Well i only have one thing to say to that..... ouch!! ps: I´m really sorry :)
ThetaOrionis01
Another poster from Scotland? Mwahahaha - Dark0ne is probably going to relocate to the Scilly Isles now to put some more distance between himself and us northern savages  *lobs empty Irn Bru can at Dark0ne* Matter falling into the black hole will be ripped apart - the gravitational pull is so intense that the object falling in will be distorted along its length first. The leading edge of the object experiences a stronger gravitational pull than the side of the object furthest from the black hole - the objects gets stretched. This make the difference in forces working on the two sides of the object more pronounced, until the object is ripped apart. The same forces then apply to the smaller parts of the object, until it is reduced to its particle components. Matter falling into the black hole would also be accelerated by this gravitational force, and so time would slow down for it in accordance with Special Relativity. It would acquire energy, and eventually become a high-energy particle beam. Whether this particle beam would be able to pass through the Black Hole and enter the mirror universe - who knows? If not, unable to leave the Black Hole matter would remain inside the Black Hole, circling it forever. However - some matter can escape from Black Holes, thanks to the laws of quantum mechanics. So if there is a probability of matter escaping back into our universe, I would assume that there is also a similar probabilty of matter escaping through the Black Hole into the mirror universe. Marxist ßastard
What about the simplest explanation -- after being ripped apart by gravitational forces, the matter does not convert into energy, but rather just joins with the singularity? Having two black holes with different gravitational forces would support this explanation. My god, with all these theories, you're going to make some scifi fanboy commit suicide by jumping into one of these things and thinking that he'll come out of the other end being friends with Scotty... ThetaOrionis01
What do you mean by 'joins with the singularity'? Nobody can even begin to explain what happens at the actual point of singularity, because the laws of physics as we know them break down where infinity enters the equations... Do you mean the mass of the matter falling in is added to the mass of the black hole? Due to the mass-energy equivalent it doesn't really matter (ouch - no pun intended! ) whether the matter enters the black hole as matter or energy. Gotta love E=mc2!! EDIT: bleh, looks like the superscript tag isn't supported <_<
Adamastor
my pictures turned out all crunched... anyhow the popular theory of how black holes are crated is as follows, a huge star (many times the size of our own sun) comes to an end but instead of exploding as 'normal' stars do it implodes due to its insanely high mass. at this point protons and electrons fuse together creating neutrons (if it now stays stable it is a neutron star...). if its mass is high enough it will colapse further into a blackhole. so if a 'young' black hole fuses protons and electrons together, what prevents a 'fully grown' black hole from doing it on a larger scale. perhaps all the mass is compresed together into a single particle. (look at me im ranting!) so we would have heavier and heavier particles just sucking in everything, including each other if they ever get the chance... i honestly dont think it goes anywhere (exept for the infinitesimal few bit of matter that apear on the outside) quantum physics alows for allot of weird crap... it is possibe, however unprobable, that all the particles of gas in the room i ocupy all bunch up in a coner just long enough for me to sufocate... it is also possible, however unporbable, that a car speeding at a reinforced steel wall, disapears on the one side and apears on the other (please dont try this, the odds of one patricle disapearing on one side of a atom thin wall and apearing on the other are small enough...). newtonian physics works in the big picture, quantum physics works on the minuscule, but nothing seems to work at a singularity, so all speculation could be wrong. perhapse at the center of all balck holes there is a rolerdisco that serves no alcohol (aka hell)...
