Government Lies

Our government has been lying to us from the beginning. The first soldiers that served for our gov. were offered 150 acres of land for service. However at the end of the conflict they were actually given nothing. They are still at it. Over 80% of the people I have talked too have said that they were offered medical benefits for a career in the military. They are few and far between. >:( >:(

My valid point is thus: of course the government lies. It is statistically undeniable that any group of people will lie at least once. To be a debater is to accept this and get onto what the government lies about. To be a troll is to female dog and moan about the conclusion that they lie, with the hope of eventually provoking an angry response.

 

The OP is not a debater, and this is not a debate. Why don't we instead do something appropriate for this forum and discuss whether it's better to have some fun at the expense of the >80 000 crowd and use these threads to be an "asshat --" as Darky so eloquently put it -- working to filter out the trolls, spammers, &c. of the lot, or to provide by demonstration the opportunity for these people to reform?

I DID make a point, which you just deleted without reading. Have you ever read a list of logical fallacies, and why they don't belong in a debate? And as for the mod powers, of course I won't. How you can put up with the moron hordes, I have no idea. But polite requests aren't going to make them go away.

Andi, you present absolutely no support for this absurd claim. Secondhand stories from "friends" are not acceptable evidence. Did you get your so-called facts from www.IhateBushbecauseitspopular.com? It sounds a lot like the kind of argument you'd find from sources like that, it sounds like some grand conspiracy, but there's never any evidence provided.

 

There's a huge burden of proof on you to support this claim. Do you realize how crazy it is to suggest that not only would the government deny benefits so widely (80% is an overwhelming majority), but that their victims would remain silent about it? That the media, always eager to find a new scandal, would let their protests go un-reported? And even if some benefits are lost, the burden of proof is on you to prove that it's intentional and malicious, not merely the product of governement inefficiency and mistakes.

I read it, but having a valid point does not justify the insulting blurb above it. We have specific rules about forum vigilantism and if I find either of you noob bashing again you'll be getting 24 hour bans or worse -- these forums are for all people, not just the maddox rejects who take pleasure in exurting forum muscle over others.
