Themisive
I wonder if anyone can help, I seem to remember from modding in Morrowind that the Elder Scrolls uses an abbreviated form of the HTML codes, but for the life of me I cannot find any reference to them in Wiki or anywhere else. In fact I was wondering, how different are the BB codes for this site, and the html codes for Oblivion. If someone could please point me in the right direction, I would be grateful. jaosals42
I'm not a scripter personally, but this site may be able to help. It's where I used to go for some of my questions back when I used to mod Oblivion. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Main_Page
Themisive
I'm not a scripter personally, but this site may be able to help. It's where I used to go for some of my questions back when I used to mod Oblivion. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Main_PageI see what you mean, however I am NOT trying to create a script, rather place messages and other text on scrolls and books to be used in-game. I do realise that a lot of people read wiki, but I just find it confusing. A lot of the information (except for scripting and texturing and so-on - such as using the CS, I already know. The little simple things, which one would expect to be there are just not available. Things that I don't want as yet are covered in great detail. In addition, there seems to be no way to find something that you want, there is no one section devoted solely to say scripting, or texturing or building a mod. Instead the information is broken into small parcels and there seems to be a bit here and a bit there - in fact, just to find out how to get the relevant details on something else entirely is (or at least appears to be) beyond the scope of Wiki. Not only that but you can waste hours looking for something that doesn't even seem to exist, I should know, I've done it. For me, Wiki is the ULTIMATE time-waster, whilst it may make perfect sense to the people who wrote the various articles, it certainly doesn't seem to make sense to someone trying to find the answer to a problem. For instance, before I posted this yesterday, I spent 3 hours just trying to find the information. I'm sure it's around somewhere but I can't seem to find it. I remember when Morrowind was released and was the latest Elder Scrolls game, there was a huge set of tutorials on just about everything, why can't they do the same for Oblivion? sure I know things link to each other, but why not a tutorial for scripting, one for texturing and so-on? xxXEvandarXxx
If I remember correctly Morrowind used HTML for dialogues. Oblivion uses HTML for books. The supported tags are described here.

The supported tags are described here. Thanks, this is just what I need! To make sure I don't lose them again I've downloaded them and will write them to disk in a little while. David Brasher
The only HTML that I have encountered so far in Oblivion is in formatting books, scrolls, and notes. But the wiki is very very hard to use. I was trying to format a book a certain way, and I had to abandon the wiki and go out onto the Internet at large to find the right HTML commands to get my Oblivion book right.
