hypothrmia
So do I, welcome to the forums. I've never ventured onto the official boards since I consider this one to be the pinnacle of Elder Scrolls forumness. Hope you enjoy the site (see everyone, not all newbies are illiterate punks ;) ) By the way, what's SimTower? That's one I've not heard of.Well, I'm certainly not an illiterate punk. Unofficially, it's my personal mission to bring good grammar back to the Inter-Nets. Mi3 gra^^3r vv1|| pwn joo!!!!!11! Sorry, had to get that out of my system... SimTower... yeah, not many have heard of it. I can't remember where I origionally got it from, as it's been on at least three of my computers by now. It's great fun, though. *Gasps* Wow, the great Dark Lord welcomed you himself! I have not seen this honour bestowed upon anyone in a long while. Dark0ne, are you limbering up to snatch Switch's title of Newbie Relations Officer from him? ;DConsider me appreciative. Like I said, long and beautiful relationship. Yes, I was contemplating deleting your post so I could say I was first ;-) We're making a bad impression though, lets atleast pretend that we're nice so we can get him to stay long enough to lock him in a cell. *Dark0ne yet again was not here*Hey, even a pretense of civility is something special considering the state of most internet forums today... By the way, did you guys notice my sig? Bonus points to anyone who can tell me what it's from! I'd just like to take this moment to reiterate: "Not Illiterate." Thank you. loveme4whoiam
Is it from one of the Forgotten Tales? I can't remember it being in the Silmarillion, but then I read it a while ago so I'm not sure. By the way, I din't mean to imply that you yourself were an illiterate punk :D
Dark0ne
Yeah, the Forgotten Tales. Been a long while since I've read it, but I believe it's the story of the man who lost his father to Morgoth, slayed Morgoth's prize dragon, ended up marrying/bedding his own sister then falling on his own sword for good measure. I believe in the world of Tolkien that's called a "love story". Oh, by the way, this post may contain spoilers.

Oh, by the way, this post may contain spoilers. The particular passage that I've quoted is included in The Silmarillion, which has the more summary account of the Children of Hurin. The full tale (or the most full tale that is published) is actually in Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-Earth. Narn i Hin Hurin means, Lay of the Children of Hurin, and I think it's pretty much the best piece of fantasy literature ever written, and among the best literature of all time, period. My character in RPGs is always named Turin Turambar.
