ScrappyDweeble
I don't want to spoil much but I've encounted a big bug when M says "I'm resigned to doing everything by myself" to Randall. After he says that, nothing happens. At all. He just stands there t'ill I reload the game and I can't advance past that point. Edit; My wording was poor, but I meant that I still have not been able to progress past that point, not that a reload fixes it. Did anybody ever reply to you? I have exactly the same glitch. Did you resolve it? ANYBODY? SOMEGUY? SOMEGUY? ANYBODY?

ScrappyDweeble
My game doesn't crash, but the action stops after Marko says: "I'm resigned to doing everything by myself." UPDATE (11/04/2015): I figured it out: Ford had no ammo, probably because I never hired him. Going back a bit and giving him the requisite load-out fixed that problem. CanineCarnival
Alright, so I finally finished this mod and wanted to comment on it. I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the comment section of the mod, but since the latter seems to be reserved for bug reports and general questions, I'll just post my piece here. I'm sure it's super duper important that you spend your time reading all this. Overall I really liked the mod. I liked all the different dialogue options, especially those concerning the Courier's motivation for pursuing Marko. Also, good use of the Terrifying Presence perk. I wish I could've used it on Marko in the final confrontation, but I understand why there was no TP option.Marko himself was very well done for the most part. I was actually pleasantly surprised how he turned out, because I had trouble seeing him as anything but a mindless savage considering all his characterisation prior to meeting him, yet he supposedly carried himself with some sort of dignity and civility. I had a hard time combining those traits in my mind, so, good job on synthesizing that. His character worked very well and seemed very natural (and not forced at all, like I feared).I also liked the contrast between Marko and a good aligned Courier. It really felt like Marko was my Courier's evil twin, his chaotic evil mirroring my Courier's lawful good. Also, his outfit suits the character perfectly, being very simple but still iconic. Dragbody did a good job on this, and the Drifter outfit as well.Overall, Marko definitely lived up to the hype, which I honestly didn't expect. NVBIII's strength lies in this character. He's brutal, sadistic, genuinely intimidating, "pure evil" and all that, but still not just some try-hard chestbumping thug, like some of the other bounties you pursued throughout the series. Also, it was kind of a bold(ish) move to force the "Scarred" perk on the player after completion, but I approve. There's a few things that didn't sit well with me, though. Some of these might be nitpicky (I'm one of those hard to please customers). There are two things that stand out the most to me.The first is Marko trying to guilt trip the player at the beginning of the mod. This is probably where a lot of players will draw unfortunate paralles to Ulysses. I kill Eileen and the NCR screwing up and telling people outer Vegas is safe now is somehow my fault, nevermind the lives saved by Eileens death. He might as well put the blame on the people who build homes during pre-war times in what would later be fiend territory. Quigley and Half-Cocked were offloading the cost of supporting their loved ones onto innocents. Their death was bad for their families (whose subsistence was payed for by the lives of better people), but good for everyone who doesn't make a living through crime. Perhaps I'm just a heartless bastard, but I actually only felt contempt for Dana and wish there would've been a dialogue option calling her out on selling her daughter (instead of using the information for blackmail). The ending slide didn't really move me either, all I thought was "good." (maybe with the exception for her kids). So, in short, Marko is laying the responsibility for other people's actions at the Courier's feet, without contrasting what happened to what would've happened if Eileen, Quigley and Half-Cocked were still alive. It's far-fetched and doesn't really work, at least not on me. Perhaps I'm missing the point here and you simply wanted to show that taking out bad guys doesn't always lead to nothing but sunshine and roses. Or maybe this was primarily about Marko trying to torment the Courier and you were supposed to take the same stance I did on the issue. edit: I just realized that the Eileen thing was about keeping Troy in line, not what I wrote. The second is the manner in which the Courier was saved after being buried. I expected this to be a story about the Courier being physically and mentally degraded, humiliated and tormented by Marko, but still overcoming the misery he's put in by virtue of his own strength. Unfortunately, only the former happened. I would've preferred some sort of skill check to break out of the coffin (Strength/Melee/Unarmed would've worked well, but guns and even explosives could've been an option, I think), and after that the Courier would either limp back into town and kill the bounty hunters and Marko or he would've decided that he has had enough and that it's time to go home. But instead the Courier survived because he was just lucky enough Thorne was there. The Courier was truly powerless against Marko and survived by sheer luck. Maybe that was intentional and your aim was to show that not even the Courier could truly prevail against Marko. But (especially in light of the ending slide talking about the Courier's resolve) I think it would've made for a better story if it went "The Courier was made Marko's *censored* but survived and overcame because he was just barely powerful enough to do so" rather than "The Courier was made Marko's *censored* and survived because someone took pity on him". I know a crucial element of the story was that the Courier was pretty much steamrolling every bounty prior to Marko and that Marko proved that there are, in fact, brakes on the Courier Train, being the first to give him pause. But I think this point could've been made with the Courier saving himself instead of being saved by Thorne. To summarize, being saved by Thorne sort of devalues the confrontation with Marko for me. It may have been resolve that drove the Courier to confront Marko afterwards, but it wasn't resolve that saved him. Perhaps that was the point: Marko was in fact stronger than the Courier, who would've been Marko's *censored* if it wasn't for outside intervention. It would've been a complete and utter defeat. But I would've preferred if the Courier was beaten within an inch of utter defeat and then made a comeback, doesn't even have to be a glorious one. But I can see why and understand if you think that would've been too antithetical to the story. Additionally, I would've liked a bit more interaction with the people of Frosthill. It would've made Marko's slaughter of the town more powerful. As it stands, it falls a little bit more flat than it could. Some more interactions with Marko would've been nice as well, but I can see how it would be difficult to have dialogue between the player and Marko outside of the Virgil section and the finale. The bounties prior to Marko also lacked in characterization (aside from Glanton, of course), though it's understandable that they can't all have the same build up as the Judge, Red Bear and Marko. In any case, those first two paragraphs are the only serious gripes I have with the mod. Everything else can be counted as more of a product of my pedantism. So, yeah, NVBIII was pretty good I guess, 9.5/10, would recommend to my children. I hope you continue modding for Fallout 4, then I might actually consider buying that game. Ranger Josey>Bobby Bass That turned out to be a bit more elaborate than I aimed at. Oh, well. Edited November 1, 2015 by CanineCarnival
manwiththemachinegun
I got what Marko was all about. I think he did live up to his reputation and what he represented, essentially an "evil" karma Vault Dweller protagonist. I only wish there was more opportunity to dig back into what really bothered him about the Courier, and this is where the Paradise Lost analogy comes in: that the Courier wouldn't sink to Marko's level on a good karma play through, or flat out didn't care about Marko's suffering as an evil one. Also, if you're going to take player control away... I would have liked an explanation as to what Brookshire's disabling attack actually was. Gas works fine... unless you're wearing power armor like I was. Just a line of dialogue about, "we cooked up something special for you, all the EMP and flashbang grenades we could spare to overload your armor's systems, would have been fine. ScrappyDweeble
Someguy: Well done. NVBIII and Better Angles were really well conceived and executed. The voice actors were especially outstanding and the entertaining dialog they were given to read was really top drawer stuff. 9.5/10.
