Updates:

- I've been writing dialogue for some of the other bounty hunters, and it's... very interesting.

- There will be at least one "Hold the Line" event in this mod. It seems I can't make a plugin without including one. They're fun, though, aren't they?

News outside NVBIII:

- NVBI version 1.52 is online, and features full voice acting (with MartinPurvis as the Judge), reduced rewards, and a few tweaks (Judge's hp, certain speech checks, etc.)

NVBI version 1.52 is online,

Tested I trust?

Always.

In terms of gameplay, it isn't a big change from the last build, VO notwithstanding. The only changes outside voicework were cutting rewards and making one speech check a tad easier.

May I offer a small idea?Just one. :D

May be you should unify all three bounties mods and the Inheritance into one big story?

Just a thought.

I've thought about it, but I prefer an episodic presentation. Each mod should have a unique, self-contained narrative. It makes production more manageable, and players are free to pick and choose which mods they use. You'd be surprised how divided players are on some of my mods, particularly between NVBI and NVBII. I imagine plenty will simply skip one or both when I release NVBIII, just based on personal preference.

That's how it goes with quest mods, though. The content is so subjective that it's unlikely that players will enjoy all your plugins, but that doesn't bother me in the least. I try to make each mod distinct, consciously improving on past efforts, all while trying new methods, often with mixed results. Many players still loathe the poster system in NVBII, so much so that they avoid the mod entirely. That's cool. If I ever make Sinners and Slaves, anyone who isn't comfortable with the Legion will probably steer clear of it. The Message would probably be slower-paced and more meditative, with an emphasis on dialogue and alliances, not combat. You can imagine how that would fare with some users. I even have an outline called New Vegas Noir that revolves entirely around finding a serial killer on the strip, with little to no combat in the mod at all.

Even as I'm working on it, I know that some players will dislike NVBIII, as I'm not taking a traditional or formulaic route for the story. I'm sure some of you will see what's coming, but even then... there will be genuinely shocking moments. It will probably be too much for some players that are used to getting everything they want, when they want it - that's sort of the point, though. You'll understand when you play it. Revenge is not a casual affair, and few really prepared to pay the price to see it through. Fewer still can deal with the long-term consequences of it.

Once again, I supply an essay in lieu of a succinct 'no'. Time to write more dialogue!

Speaking of becoming the villain, has there even been thought of an alternate storyline where the player works for the Judge and faces off against the likes of Randall, Doc Friday, and Marshall Cooper? Would probably be too much work and take time away from more interesting projects. As for New Vegas Noir, I'll add it to the long list of your future mods that I'm looking forward to playing (or imagining if you never get around to it). What other ideas do you have for future projects?

The things you've been saying about revenge and cost make me think Marko possibly escaping (or me being forced to let him go to save innocent people) and the idea is revolting to me, which I suppose would be the point. I take some live bounties and I let Ribben live, but my Courier has been growing darker and I didn't make any effort to take in people like Chuckles or Rzeznik alive. I honestly don't know what I would do if faced with that kind of choice. That would place The Message and Just a Courier as a good finale to the storyline for my character, making peace with the killer that they are.

Off the top of my head, I have rough outlines for the following...

- Groom Lake (Area 51 on acid - very Wild Wasteland)

- Martin's Marines (Bad memories from this one - I worked on it in 2011 and lost everything in a pc meltdown. I back up everything now)

- Darkest Heart (An adaptation of Apocalypse Now set on the Colorado River)

- Winchester '78 (Adaptation of the similarly-titled film; I would likely change the name)

- The Mercenary (Adaptation of Yojimbo and A Fistful of Dollars)

- Project Penectomy (Another Wild Wasteland mod, probably would be rolled into Groom Lake)

- The Return (Adaptation of The Anabasis)

- Someguy's Scintillating Scenarios (A random encounter mod)

That's about it for FO:NV. I've got a passel for Skyrim, but few are worth mentioning. These are just outlines - random brainstorming, really. The ideas are always there, but there is only so much time and motivation. Luckily, some of these could be easily adapted to FO4, though I'll probably have to gauge the setting, factions, etc., before deciding on a design. The Mercenary and Martin's Marines are likely my top choices for FO4, but who the hell knows? The game could be lacking in substantive bounty hunting quests...

Can you elaborate on what you mean when you say adaptation? Would we see just heavy references or would you be trying to tell the same story just slightly tweaked? I'm slightly intrigued by The Mercenary in particular.

The general plot and structure would be mimicked, some more than others. It really depends.
