The Master Of Zooz

As Tiax and Mandrake consider further it occurs to them that they have not yet warned the others of the dangers of going outside during the sandstorm. It will take them some time to be winched back up to the main street. They can always return next day having advised others of their intentions.

"DAMM!" Tiax shouts "Mandrake! We have not warned the others about the sandstorm........."

Tiax turnes and walks outside quickly. From outside he talkes to Mandrake.

"Does not look like a storm is coming we should leave now we still can.. I do not know the weather here."

Tiax goes back inside again and looks at Mandrake with a commanding look and walsk out again.

"We must go!"

And so the group assembles in the Arms of Dohoti. It is by now about 6pm. Darkess will fall in about one hour. You need to get back to your lodgings to avoid the risks Tiax and Mandrake talk of.

You exchange the following info -

Mandrake and Tiax know of:- the times of ships to Golconar, the impending sand storm, the interior of the Jade Temple.

t'skar and Kalmer know of:- the whereabouts and condition of the sword in the City Museum, the fact that Bembolia is still alive and in Golconar

Ara, Baba-John and gnaag know of:- the maze like nature of the Honeycomb and the fact that the only place to get information on the whereabouts of the second sword is from information in the city museum.

You now plan what to do next day after you have shovelled the sand.

“It seems so strange,” T’skar says, “Why would you go to all the trouble of making walls higher and higher, and the expense? Why not just abandon what’s up top, and just open out to the sea? Obviously they have the ‘engineering’ know-how. It sure would save a lot of shoveling. They do seem to have a lot of 'engineering' here for a place that doesn't believe in it, though.”

Looking at the rest of the group, she says “Well, it looks like we have no choice but to be indoors when the storm starts, so I’m going to see if there are any rooms here and get ready for tomorrow.” With that she approaches the barmaid to see about renting accommodations for the night.

There are rooms at 25 nipin. Sael has already booked one in his drunken stupor. Tiax and Mandrake have the luxury of a personal shoveller, breakfast and evening meal. Here they throw in breakfast. In the Honeycomb it is just the open sided room for 12 nipin.

Baba looked at the others in disbelief.

Combined with snippets he had picked up from the residents...............................

They had arrived just before, what promised to be, the mother of all storms.

A storm, which could quite easily maim, or even kill, someone foolish enough to be caught outside.

No matter how bad, the people of Dohoti, have treated us, as soon as the storm subsides, help anyone who needs help. If shoveling is needed we’ll do that as well.

When we get the all clear which should be sometime tomorrow morning, we’ll meet back here to discuss our options.

Ok people, let’s head for our lodgings now and prepare for the worst.

Baba got up, called Gnaag and Ara, and they started making their way back to the Honeycomb Heaven.

OOC> One euro = 2 nipin equivalent so I'd assume depending on the quality of the gold and size of gold piece 20 nipin per gold piece. Nipin is used throughout Bashkher. One nipin is divided into 100 finni. As a general guideline prices in most cities of Bashkher are lower in the south and on the river cities. The northern cities of Golconar, Biksinder and Ippikander have 'luxury' districts where prices are bordering on the extortionate but also terrible slums where you could rent a shack for next to nothing. Dohoti is somewhere between the extremes. There are no real slums because there is no opportunity to live in the open. On the other hand the sand strips paint off buildings etc. so nothing can ever look very grand either.

The Honeycomb is cheapest because with no external wall to the room there are difficulties. Certainly anyone inclined to get drunk, or sleepwalking could take a step into the abyss. And of course you can't even scratch without everyone seeing you do it. Lodging nearest to the government buildings are superior (or at least think they are).

If you think it would help I could have available a guide to each city you can buy on arrival at the docks or central bookstore in future. Dohoti wouldn't have anything so frivolous but most other cities would. I could use them in both rpgs so I have no problem in preparing them.

BTW before you split up have you decided who is doing what after the shovelling, shovelling that Tiax and Mandrake have paid in their room rate not to have to do, is over? This is just so that I can keep track of you on my computerised route finder!

Sael looks over at the shuttered windows:

"That sounds like a plan, do any of you have anything that i could blag as ointment of some kind i don't care what it is if it doesn't harm people. i just want something so i can pretend to be doing medicine if i need to use my healing magic on the locals if any are hurt"

"Lets batton down the hatches then" *worried grin*
