BOSS Logs on 2.3.0

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this is the right "forum", but are there upgrade instructions for Boss 2.3.0? The HTML BOSS Log gives me a link to v2.3.0, but that's it. Do I click "Download Boss" like I did with the previous version(which was my 1st version of BOSS)?

The fact that I have Boss working now is a bit of a minor miracle(a Gopherer miracle, actually), so essentially my question is will "downloading" the new version uninstall the old version easily if I accept all the defaults(as I did the version I installed with Gopher's aid)?

I just downloaded it and installed it to it's own directory

Sooooo, I could follow the steps(Gopher video) I used to download it before, just make sure it doesn't go to the "C:/BOSS" folder where my current version is, call the folder something like "BOSS v3.2.0"; thus one version would run independently from the other? Then, I could unistall the previous version if I wanted?

Thanks in advance for help. I know this is pretty basic computer stuff.

@hshowal

If you use the BOSS installer file, it will recognize the previous version and ask to go ahead and uninstall it before installing the new version.

If you use the BOSS archive file, you can extract it to it's own directory and as a result have multiple versions.

THAT'S kind of what I wanted to make sure of: would an installer recognize the old version. Thanks a ton for the help everyone!

Just need to get my computer's cup holder fixed now...

Glad to see that it wasn't just me, and that a fixed copy was uploaded so quickly. I feared I'd have to switch over to LOOT, which frankly I don't trust enough yet to do.
