Sure you are... so I suppose you want full realism for the male characters as well (and plan to have enough of them naked to see it)? But sure, maybe it IS about realism... it's just most of the people requesting these mods are immature kids who just want some fantasy material (as bizarre as it is).

Seriously though, I used the Better Bodies Nude version for Morrowind for as long as I can remember (my memory is quite bad mind you, but I'm sure I've been using it for a long time). It's a matter of realism, humour (dreamers), and yes, pleasant eye candy. Truthfully, it's not a nude patch I'm looking forward to, but a Better Bodies for Oblivion. The arms on my Breton look gimped, and her head juts out like an ape.

 

Actually, I think we need sliders for body types in the race selection menu - one for thin/thickness of build, another for the amount of muscle - so thick and musclular would be schwarzeneggar, thick and not muscular would be roseanne barr, thin and not muscular would be ally mcbeal, thin and muscular would be the build of an athlete - like a rower. with varying degrees in between. of course, this is unlikely to be implemented, but it'd be nice ^^

As did I. I found it was a nice way of humiliating the idiots who'd run at you when you were level 50 -- leave them shamed in death!

I used Better Bodies for Morrowind as well, and loved the level of realism the nude version added. It was stupid to kill someone, take every possession on their body, and still see them lying there in badly-textured, ugly underwear. Maybe I wanted to steal the underwear and sell it ("What are these brown stains in this underwear?" "Uh... polish. Give me a Drake.").

 

Better Bodies for Oblivion would be incredibly realism-assisting. I'd use it. It's not like we're all planning on killing a bunch of women, dragging them to our homes and laying them down side-by-side in their nudity to stare at for 3 game days before they "disappear." As dead as the NPCs were in Morrowind, for some reason, Better Bodies at least gave a little more life to them. Somehow. I think. Maybe not. I'm sleepy.

Goading the new people? I wasn't even looking at his post count (or lack of one).

 

I guess there's somewhat of a point to it in Morrowind, since the default bodies are so horribly ugly, and the underwear even uglier (clipping errors, etc). Of course there were also the immature kids who went crazy over a little polygonal nudity (and not even high-poly and good looking!). I don't have some moral outrage over it or anything, it just seems a bit silly to get all excited over it. I mean, if you're downloading mods, you obviously have internet access... so why settle for naked low-poly rpg characters when you can get all the high-quality porn you could ever want?

Eh, there's already an option for topless females in OB, it's just the texture is borderline butt-fugly.

 

1. Under the OB Data folder, create this structure: meshes\characters\_male

 

2. Unpack the oblivion-meshes.bsa into a diffferent folder using the BSA unpacker (found on the official OB forums).

 

3. Find femaleupperbodynude.nif and copy it to the folder structure that you created earlier.

 

4. Rename to femaleupperbody.nif.

 

5. Yay 0rrg@zzm, now you can be a topless chick.

 

6. Try not to laugh at the lousy texture.

Some body options would be nice, I'm not too happy with the fact that everyone in the game has the same body type, it lacks realism and basically reinforces ideal body image types. I want to have a fat nord smash-you-in-the-face-axe-totting-beer-drinking-maniac. Alas not this time around (points to GTA3 San Andreas, the character options were amazingly built into the game, i.e. eats lots of fried chicken and pizza, become fat; work out at the gym, get jacked). Oblivion should have followed suit.

 

I don't even get the nudity debate, overall it seems childish and nitpicky. Either you want it for 'kicks' or some illusory 'realism' aspect of the game. I'd rather put my modding efforts into something more substantial to be honest, if I had any skills in the first place. Now if the mod scripted NPC's to be nude in say, the south, while sleeping during the night, then I might consider using it.

If the devs were reall clever , they should have made the breasts smiley faces or a t-shirt with something to the effect of a "HAHA" easteregg.
