the_lone_bard
Strange, theres 2 strings in the Oblivion.ini for ConsoleTextYPosand iConsoleTextXPos but if you say your health/icons dispear when you press ` but then if you type something it does that action then I'm not sure what the problem is. ThetaOrionis01
I'm assuming that the 2 .ini entries you mentioned only specify where on the screen the text appears - I couldn't find anything in the .ini about keys assigned to the console. Switch
It could just be that your ` key is broken. Have you tried using it in say, Notepad just to make sure it works? Mapping the console to another key would probably help, but it doesn't sound like it's possible... Sounds like if you're really desperate to use the console, reinstalling is your only option. j3nni
No i said that my health bars DONT disappear when i press `, also the keys not broken as u can see from me typing it lol. i also tried a reinstall and its still not working, its like that key isnt the one assigned to open the console, but its supposed to be. I like being able to do the odd cheat in any game i get when needed, but i cant exactly exchange this for another copy saying its because the cheat thing didnt work on it lol, i guess ill have to except that i wont ever be able to cheat, but im so completely annoyed
ThetaOrionis01
If you have a spare keyboard you could try connecting that, to see if that works - but since you can type the ` character it doesn't seem likely that that's the problem. Apart from that you could try saving your game and then working your way through the keys, to find out if there is a key or key combination (eg with and without caps lock on) that will bring up the console. :/ If that doesn't work, you could try emailing Bethesda's tech support, to see if they have any suggestions. Switch
Jenni, please don't repeat what's already been posted in a thread, as that's spamming. Thanks. ^^;
Kerjo
Hey, are you using Windows XP Media Center edition? I bet you are. Unplug the remote receiver and try opening the console.
