madcow12
I'm hesitant to try it out because of the number of incompatibilities (which seems to mean i have to remove Skyrim HD, SMIM, and all others, which means then i have to figure out the mods which have compatibility patches for these said texture mods then remove and reinstall them too, all adding up to hours of modding AGAIN)but i am definitely getting tired of the rugged landscape and snow and allso to people using it, it is worth the change? also can i run a enb along with it or is that not recommended? Hyacathusarullistad
Don't get me wrong, Tropical Skyrim is an incredible modding achievement. That being said, I personally don't understand the appeal. I mean, sure it looks different, but doesn't anyone else find the recurring references to Skyrim's harsh, cold landscape a little out of place in a tropical environment? As for ENB presets, I don't recommend one at the best of times. They're either too blurry, too bright, too saturated, and always come with a massive performance hit even on the most powerful of systems. I've found one preset in the last two years that has both an attractive aesthetic and worthwhile performance hit, and that's Marshmallow. It's built on a very old version of the binaries and has minimal effects, but it looks fantastic and actually delivers on its promise of a minimal performance hit. Deserves far more attention than what some of the more popular presets get, IMO.
madcow12
hmmI checked out Marshmallow, and it's like looking at a spit cooked BBQ chicken while all this time I was eating grill cooked chicken. The latter is a bit more tastier at a greasier cost (a la performance) while the bbq is lean and with some sauce could taste better. yea the dialogues are off and i agree with that part. but just visually, i don't know i feel it might be a good change or whatnot. i'm just not sure if its worth going through the hassle of uninstalling the texture mods, the mod files with patches FOR the texture mods, install this, reinstall the mods, just to find out it glitches out in DLC areas. Shubal
You could compromise and get a Summer skyrim that banishes the snow and not have to upset your mod cart over much.
madcow12
that's a good idea. i'll look into that too
Guss
It sure does change skyrim, i love the looks of it when i had it but after awhile of all the incompatibility of the mods i had with tropical skyrim, i removed it. been a serveral months now since i last had it but some of the tree's and objects had no collision with anything so you can walk through or even kill npcs through them. A soon to be great mod a WIP i would call it. if you dont mind some bugs and mod incompatibility then it would be a great mod to get. With skybirds for tropical skyrim they do fly through the water, rocks, underground and so on. lol :)
