As you can see in the screenshot I have identifying text over screenshots. This happens whether I have fraps on or not. I can't find a solution anywhere. It ruins them, even though I have other issues to work out. I'd like my screenshots left text free. So how do I stop that from happening? Sorry screenshot didn't upload here is the link http://i1372.photobucket.com/albums/ag326/zacgeorge95gzac95/TESV2014-05-0804-39-24-88_zps0285bad0.png

Thank you, is there a way to disable the text itself permantly as I have iHud and use that to remove the hud. A reccomended program or setting? I could not find anything in any of the varios .ini. the ENblocal,SkyrimPref, or the others.

Could be done by using the print screen key on your keyboard instead of Steam's screenshot function, since steam's overlay is what produces that text.

Odd as I am using print screen and have steam overlay disabled.

Clearly not Steam's overlay there. That text is coming from Skyrim, no doubt about it. There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods. Steam's F12 capture doesn't produce any text, but it also fails to get many post-processing effects. PrtSc will get the effects, but will produce that text for whatever reason. The best solution is indeed to type TM into the console to disable the text while taking a screenshot.

What I did was disable the entire built-in screenshot functionality, and just rely on Fraps to take screenshots. The correct .ini file is in Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini, and set bAllowScreenshot=0.

Thankfully, Skyrim doesn't go Morrowind on your ass at this point, and post black boxes of ERROR ERROR SCREENSHOT FUNCTIONALITY DISABLED everywhere on the screen.

3 ways to take a screenshot...

1) Printscreen = Built in to Skyrim , puts the screenshot in the Skyrim folder, is BMP and about 5 -7 MB (includes effects from ENB) includes screenshot # if done in rapid succession.

2) ENB (Key is shown in the settings mine is... insert key)is also BMP ,put in the Skyrim folder, about 3-4 MB (includes ENB effects) Nothing on screen but Graphics. IF ihud is hiding everything.

3) EVGA PrecisionX Key is settable, can be put in any folder, about 2 MB, JPG , BMP or PNG. (includes ENB effects ) rapid succession, no text on screen, IF ihud is hiding everything.

IF paid for FRAPS can also do PNG, but default is BMP. Think MSI afterburner can also do screenshots.

Their is VERY little difference between the 3 shots, in the printscreen one you can see some fuzzyness if looking close, noticeable in the compass. PrecisionX takes a great shot, is small and they don't end up in the Skyrim folder.

Thank you so much the change in the ini was exactly what I wanted. But for whatever reason kept looking past it. I use FRAPs as I was told it will capture any and all of my post process effects from ENB. And it seems to. Again thank you guys. Now I don't have to clean my Skyrim folder of pictures every day...
