Acrobatics Not As Great!

Hello guys, I've been playing Oblivion for about a week now.

I've noticed that even with acrobatics at their extreme of 255, I can't do the same stunts I used to be able to do in Elder Scrolls III. Remember, you could jump so high you'd just end up floating for ages before hitting the ground, which was awesome during a thunderstorm.

But in Oblivion you can ony jump so high, and even with acrobatics and everything at the max of 255, I can't jump over any of the big walls in the Imperial City, for example.

Am I missing something? Can someone please advise if its possible to set acrobatics at a level where I can jump across rivers, or over walls as high as the Imperial City?

Thanks, and I love the game!

That's the idea, I think. It sounds like Acrobatics has been capped to a certain height this time to try and make it realistic. Morrowind's Acrobatics was horribly unrealistic, I mean what person can leap over a building? :P However, have you tried setting it to 255 outside the city? It could be there's invisible collision over the top of cities/towns in the game due to the fact the inside is seperate from exterior (a bit like Mournhold) so they don't want you leaping over the walls.

I ending up solving it thanks to some help from the elderscrolls.com forums.

If you are on pc then you can change that in the cs under gameplay->settings->fmaxjumphightmax, they added a max jump height to prevent you from using acrobatics to jump over the city wall, or to take sort cuts in some dungeon or jump over traps.

Thanks to somnium.

The solution worked, but the problem is that some of the really large buildings ended up having false ceilings or something. So when i jumped on them i ended up going right through and getting stuck in some game glitch. Also cities are separate entities from outside terrain, so there's no jumping over the wall and making a run for it.

Otherwise the solution worked pretty damn good. By editing that option you don't actually increase the acrobatics limit past 255, but now when you achieve a level of 255 you can jump much higher. Hope that helps anyone who had a simliar issue as me.

Have you guys noticed that with a destruction skill of 255 you don't genocide the province of Cyrodiil with each spell?

Or that with an athletics skill of 255 you can't travel faster than light?

OMGWTFZORZ this game is so unrealiztik

What - you mean there's no armageddon spell you can acquire at master level?

Pfft - that was my favourite in Ultima VII

You don't want to jump over the big walls in the Imperial City anyway, or over town walls either. When you go through the gates it loads the next zone, if you jump over the loading doesn't happen.
