Who else is a night owl?

I mean seriously, as much as I try to go to sleep at 11:30PM, which is really early for me, I never manage it. I love to go to sleep at 2AM and wake up at 9:30, I just love night time so much. It's quiet, peaceful and relaxing! Anyone with me?

I'm the same but for different reasons.

My current work schedule says working till 4 AM in the night and starting the next day at 2 PM. This usually means I'm going to bed at 5 AM and get up around 12 or 1 PM.

It's not really 'my' choice, as I tried going to bed earlier already in the past several times, but then I always received an email or a Skype call, or even a phone call, from my Boss asking how work's going or why I'm not online anymore.

It is very unhealthy, but I can't really help it.

I guess mine is down to social anxiety issues, really. And I wouldn't say it's unhealthy, since it sounds like your circadian rhythm has adjusted to it.

I love getting up early. I live about an hour east of Melbourne, on the Australian south coast. My work schedule means I'm normally up at 4:30, and the early morning is definitely my favourite time of day, particularly in winter as it is now. Mornington(the region) is a bit unlike the rest of Australia. It's jagged and rocky, with grey skies and frigid, permanently stormy ocean(Bass Strait) It's cool and wet this time of year, with heavy fog and frost around dawn.

I've always enjoyed driving, and it's almost worth getting up at 4 for the drive. You can either follow the coast and watch the sun come up over Bass Strait(which is always grey, forbidding and violent-both the sky and the sea) or cut through the ancient forests and Strzlecki foothills. Either way the speed limit is 70 MPH, and the scenery is epic.

Wow. If I lived in a place like that, I definitely would. Sadly, I live in the UK. It is where the industrial revolution started, so it makes sense that there is sadly not much nature to see there.

But regardless of that, I just love the peaceful feel of night-time. The world's asleep, and I am left in sanctuary. Probably just me being anti-social.

My sleep patterns are warped, I don't fall asleep easily at the best of times, takes me hours to drop off, and it usually spills over well past midnight. Often I won't even bother and just stay up all night, play Skyrim and finally collapse from tiredness at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and this can happen for at least a week or so. So yes, I can fairly say I reckon I'm a night owl.

I've always been a night owl, and even if I'm sleepy at a decent bed time hour, I'll fight it because like you CoffeeAddictUK, I like the night because it is quiet and peaceful.
