Race Mod Editing

Im using this race mod

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21726

and exnem body replacer.

my problem i that i dont want exnem's body replacer to work on this new race, but it uses the ingame imperial body so it does use the body replacer, and honestly it looks stupid.

what can i do to make this race (and only this race) not use the exnem replacer?

i have decent knowledge of TES but none with mesh editing, i figure maybe i can export all the imperial meshes then put them in a folder and just set the race's body meshes to those, but i dont know where to start.

Body "Replacers" do just that; they Replace. If you don't like Exnem, then uninstall it.

If you want Exnem for everything else, then that is a little trickier, but certainly doable. However, you will need to do some legwork first, like make a folder that has all the proper meshes that you DO want to use, like the default Imperial, perhaps.

Copy the default Imperial Meshes to the folder; you may need to unpack them from the Oblivion.bsa file. If so, look up "BSA Commander".

Open the Race Window from the "Characters" menu.

The second and third tabs, "Body Data" and "Face Data" tell Oblivion which meshes to use. Just change them to point at the meshes you placed in the alternate location.

You can't. You can tell what body textures you will use, not body meshes. The game allows only one body shape per gender(one for male, one for female). So, you can't make one race to use vanilla body, another to use EyeCandy body, and the rest to use Fantasy Figure.

Well, I guess lfact is right, and I'm the idiot. My apologies.

On the Face Data tab, the left side is for meshes, the right side for textures.

But, that is only for faces.

However, I do know that there are mods out there that purport to have different body styles, and there was a discussion about it within the last two weeks on this forum, so look around, you might be able to dig something up.

There're some tricks to giving individual body shapes.

- Using wearable body parts and scripts. Giving specific body part like beast-like legs are done like that. About body shapes, you can check 'Set Body'.

- You can assign a body texture for different body replacer to a race. However, since it will cause messed-up skin, namely 'nipples on thigh' normally, you have to make any actors from the race wear clothes/armors for said body replacer(example: You can give BAB texture to a race, and to avoid screwed skin textures showing, you'll have to give any clothes/armors for BAB to female actors from the race)
