In response to post #15572200.

As the actual mod files got replaced by a malicious installer EXE which installed the Trojan instead of the mod, they were spotted by their majorly different file size, far too small to contain the mods to begin with, after all, if you either didn't get any installers to begin with but only legit mod packages, or what came out of the installers you used was the actual mod's files, and because the files previously were fine for a long time, or nobody reported anything suspicious about them at least, I'm led to believe you're rather safe now. It can't hurt checking for the Trojan with the anti virus and cleaning tools mentioned though anyways.

ugh people these days cant the just learn 2 respect the internet and others. For once hacking is stupid and second its just wrong. For those who thinks its fun doing that its all fun and game until some1 dies (tbh there is a report of a hacker that made someone commit suicide. Not 2 be sad and all.) then what will they do just continue. People like that makes me sick.

All is good when it ends well. The impact this could have had on the site and it's users could have been way worse. You guys where on top again, so thanks!

This was a great communication on the part of the Nexus Team. Thank you for the hard work you do, and for taking the time to thoroughly and clearly explain the nature of the breach. I respect and appreciate your efforts!

Very thankful to have such a clear and honest explanation of everything that's going on. Nexus for me is one of the more reliable and high quality mod sites out there, and it's good to see that what could have quite easily been covered up is dealt with in a professional and competent manner. Keep up the good work!
