I read through the help topic.. i'm more looking for actual forum code aka BB code and simple HTML. It's a function that's only available on the site side of the Nexus, not the forums. If you reply to someone from here: http://www.nexusmods.com/games/news/12350/? - using the reply button there, it also links the posts and places it in the correct position. It's for people who can't sustain self-control when faced with the chance to download music.mp3.exe. Any executable you download simply open it up in Ollydbg and you'll know 99% of the time if it's malware or not if it's pulling some shady system calls (keyboard hooks are a dead giveaway). As for web attack vectors just disable Javascript in your browser and keep a whitelist of trusted sites you'll allow it to run on. You should do the same for Silverlight and Flash too (Not sure about Shockwave, I don't keep updated with ALL CVEs). If you see this "in response to ..." line on the file sites, it's when you quoted a post that was already in reply to another on the forum side. Quoting or editing on the forum side makes these otherwise hidden automated lines visible all of a sudden.
