Benie
I'm trying to remove Immersive Creatures from my latest save. It's suspected in causing my CTD issue. The only way I can see of completely removing the code of the mod is through Wrye Bash. But I'm a noob at the program. This is what I did;1. Went into NMM and uninstalled (not deleted) the mod to remove it from the Load Order.2. Went into Wrye Bash in hopes to disable the mod's existing code in my latest save. Selected the save, went to the load order of that save and right clicked on Immersive Creatures and the Dragonborn optional file and went to Disable, and it shows an "XX" infront of the mod name. But I get this when trying to save; Reveal hidden contents Traceback (most recent call last): File "bash\basher.py", line 3143, in DoSave saveInfo.header.writeMasters(saveInfo.getPath()) File "bash\bosh.py", line 2124, in writeMasters obse.load() File "bash\bosh.py", line 1979, in load raise FileError(self.name,u'File signature != "OBSE"')bash.bolt.FileError: Save 19 - Benie Soul Cairn 31.08.42.skse: File signature != "OBSE" I close it anyway and loaded up Skyrim Save Script Cleaner, but I'm not seeing any "##" things of the latest save. Which is why I made this thread. How do I yank the code out of the save, to where I never installed the mod? I know it's possible.
Oubliette
Not always, it is not always possible to remove all traces of a mod from an ongoing save without ruining said save file. Depends on the type of mod, your skill and a good dose of luck really. As for removing a mod that add extensive items to the leveled lists you seem to have skipped a few steps. Like going into game and saving in a location unaffected by the mod, dropping all items that might have come from the mod and creating a save - before unchecking the mod from your load order or trying to clean your save file with Wrye. You also don't mention if you've been able to load the save file you're trying to clean after having removed the mod, if it loads and allows you to create a new save - additional cleaning is probably not necssary. Benie
Well, I don't have any items in my inventory or in chests from the mod. I do have a hard save to before I got the mod, but it's very early in my playthrough and I don't feel like playing the game all over again, that I just got done doing. Which is why I'm trying to remove the mod from my current save. As for the second thing, why would it even do that? It'll say about missing content and if I want to keep loading. I want to remove the mod from the save, so it won't say there's missing content. I want it to be like before I even installed it, again without having to redo my playthrough. blattgeist
Removing mods with scripts is generally a bad idea. These will leave traces in your savegame which eventually lead to problems. You can try savegame script cleaner or savegame script scalpel to get rid of orphaned script instances though.
camaro_69_327
Load the save....it will complain about missing content...continue loading save...IF it loads, make a NEW hard save. Exit the game. When you load the NEW hard save, it will not complain of missing content..it has already been cleansed. Best to do this in an interior far away from anything to do with the mod. Since this is a creature mod interiors like a house are a good place. Look look for orphaned scripts in the new save (script cleaner). Look at the new save in Wrye bash, if purple(it will be) you are clean and in sync. Things to try if save wont load fully into game..Rebuild Bashed patch, without immersive creatures.Disable (untic) bashed patch Then rebuild for new save.At first game menu (dragon logo) open console (~) type...>> cocriverwood <<<that will put you in game with a default character, open [esc] menu and try to load save.Start new game , then try loading save from inside game . dennis20014
Yeah the cleaner tools could help you, but if it uses a lot of scripts, honeslty, I would just recommend starting over. I've dealt with removing mods one too many times to have it screw me over in the end, no matter how much I tried to do to save it lol (the save I mean)
