What quest causes earthquakes/rumbling in Riften? Bug?

Im trying to figure out why my xbox controller for pc rumbles every time I load an exterior Riften save or go from interior to exterior cell in Riften... I think it is a quest and not a bug but I cannot figure out which quest it is. Anyone happen to know?

LOL, no, I do not have the earthquake mod.

Yea, I was going to list my mods but it is so specific I think it must a quest. Also I just started questing again instead of tooling around and wandering.
It is only my controller which rumbles- no noise or shaking in game, and only in Riften. I first noticed it after advancing the Dawnguard quest. Thanks for your attention.

I actually have this same issue and the only mods I have installed are the most recent unofficial patches.

Same issue here- drives me nuts, keep looking for a dragon (which does cause controller rumble sometimes) but no dragons. Only happens when entering a Riften exterior cell. 100% repeatable, happens EVERY time, doesn't matter which quests are active or completed, been this way for MANY new-game playthroughs.

I've had it also using a controller, most likely it's the thieves guild entrance (the grate) doing it somehow only thing I can figure out. It never used to happen..that I do know.

i have the same bug whenever i enter riften my controller shakes violently. i started a new game with only unofficial skyrim patch and right after i finish the 2 quests "alteration ritual spell" and "aftershock" i get the same shaking in riften for days/ weeks every time i enter riften or save/load same thing. then i decided to kill the dragon closest to it figuring the shaking on my controller felt like a dragon landing. i killed the dragon at "Lost tongue overlook" then fast traveled back to riften and the shaking stopped. but it returned when the dragon re-spawned. i posted on his mod hopefully he will fix it.

 

Edit: i contacted him and he claims its a ui issue (i claim B.S.) all i got from him is he basically doesnt care... but i found a better fix, that same dragon. make him crash land and it will go away completly for that save.
