Orbis [5][133]

Martin Septim traveled to the Grand Imperial City, Imperiarna, of the real Tamriel by teleporting there using the new powers attained through the silver rings granted to him my a mysterious faction. In the Grand Imperial City he made his way through the Grand Imperial Market District, one of the oldest and largest of the city districts. There were many shops, workshops, service centres, market squares full of semi-enclosed stalls and other features including devotional alters, statues, flagstone streets, garden areas and even some theaters.

Imperial Citizens moved along, often robetunics or armor, being mostly Cyrodilins but there being others who had passed the stringent citizenship tests. There were also guild people such as artisans, mages, battlemages, healers, merchants and many others. Bards, jesters, acrobats, jugglers entertained at the special places designated for them as did some illusionists, specialized mages throwing up fancy illusions to entertain people.

Jensine was the owner manager of her own fairly large shop dealing with fine second hand goods of a more exotic nature but she was also a pawn broker though a very fair minded one. She was attractive, mature, in a kneedress showing some cleavage as was fashionable at that time. Indeed it had been generally fashionable for a long time. She was a Nord, originally from the northern Imperial Province of Skyrim.

She showed him her copper rings, one on each middle finger of each hand, for she was the First Copper Ringlord of the Thirteen Ringlords13. Why her? She did not know though there was a secret, in her background, that could explain it. Jensine had True Dragonblood in her as did Martin. With such came potential powers and always extended lifespans.

Jensine smiled warmly at him. "The strange boy somehow granted me knowledge of you and what needs to be done. I will make us some good quality coffee after I show you the divine magical painting of the Painted Realm of Realms. The views of that most exotic place are confused now, as if it is going through some kind of transformation. What would you do with the divine magical painting?"

Martin found himself liking Jensine. "It can stay here until I help you deal with a case of 'unfair competition' with that new merchant and his exotic goods being sold at unusually low prices. The deal smells of low criminality and the types of items being sold are most concerning. You know that, of course. You have had people buying up the most of them. I have also gained knowledge of you. I need somewhere to stay."

She smiled. "I have only one bedroom and one big bed so I hope you do not snore loudly or try to grab all of the blankets. Since we are going to get married, you may make love to me."

He nodded. "Yes, that would be most pleasurable and soon we will marry. Hopefully we will have the blessings of my father, the Emperor. I suggest a small semiformal proposal event."

They hugged, kissed, and went off to see the divine magical painting that was stored in an antechamber.

Four 1.1[1][134]

The silvery metallic sphere, once a mere telecube, shot through an amazing whirling pattern of patterns of divine magical paint splashes, dots, dashes and fragments. It was moving at around 5,000 kilometres a second and yet five shadow-spheres were chasing its silvery energy tail making the Transglobe seem almost like a silvery tadpole. The Eternal Guardian guided the Transglobe through its own quasimentality that controlled it precisely.

They were moving through the core zone of the potentialities, and probabilities, of the existence of the Divine Magical Painted Realm of Realms now going through some final form of transformation, a stabilization of sorts. One of the shadow-spheres struck a flowing probability at a wrong angle and disintegrated.

Then the silvery Transglobe spat out a silvery white pulsebeam and disintegrated a second shadow-sphere.

The third exploded into an unexpected reality ripple throwing out rainbow light shrapnel in all directions.

Then the Transglobe vanished with a flash of rainbow patterned light.

It came out to hover above the wide spread supercity of Wondertropolis, a crazy mixture of exotic structures stretching apparently for ever in all directions. The statues of Empress Alice were huge and she was a young woman in colored metallic stone wearing different immodest outfits be they robetunics, robes, armor or others. Rainbow dragons perched on the massive statues that were fairly broad of her slimly muscular-voluptuous body. Disk shaped sailships sailed gracefully through the skies with softly glowing sails above, to the sides and below.

The CheshireCat appeared floating ahead of the Transglobe, a big projected version of him, and he spoke. "First not there, not here, and now there and here! Empress Alice is most pleased and yet puzzled. Please come with me to the Imperial Wonder Palace and savor the grace of her majesty the Empress of Wonderment and Amazement. Recently she returned from a campaign to suppress the Queen of Hearts, and the Army of Card Soldiers of Hearts. It was there that her wondrous majesty, bare breasted and brave, met not only the treacherous queen but a shadowy duke creature that she slew with her golden sword. What is it that threatens us now, that even the foolish Queen of Hearts has learned to fear so as to give an oath of true loyalty to Alice, oh wondrous Alice. Is it the ShadowGod, ShadowGoddess, that threatens us?"

The decision was not hard to make. Mahargiana, and the Hero Demigods, were soon appearing before the amazingly beautiful slimly muscular-voluptuous Alice who wore not much at all in the way of electrum and golden ornamentation along with some fine leather-beast leathers. She could easily have been a Cyrodilin of Imperial Citizenship of the real Tamriel.

Then she spoke. "Once, endlessly ago, I was Alice Brown who was a genetically engineered, bio-engineered, super genius. I was one of thirteen but not of the prime one or the high three but of the nine others. I made very great inventions, helped to gain others, helped to make great scientific discoveries but I was a psychologically ill individual full of self pity, greed, lust and some very eccentric habits that cause me to cringe to remember. What happened, I am not sure and I do not know where the others are, that is of the thirteen or our followers or out pet companions or others that were with us. We did something very foolish, very dark, and billions of people paid for it; we really did think it was a good idea at the time and that the OldEarth would benefit while worshiping us as heroes. We were very wrong."

Then she frowned. "The ShadowGoddess is lurking here, unwanted and threatening. Why, I do not know, but she knows who-what I was if not who-what I have become. I need you to assist me to deal with her and to rescue the rather foolish Frankenstane and his daughters."

Four 2.1[2][138]

The large expedition set out in eight sail-fliers, big magical flying sailships, that moved gracefully through the skies over Wonderland. After some time they passed through an energy barrier and abruptly they were no longer in Wondertropolis but over a great semirural-semiwilderness landscape of forests, lakes and grassy areas dotted with thorpes, hamlets and villages. There were scattered a few large statues of Empress Alice but many of them seemed neglected and some had been vandalized.

Empress Alice frowned heavily. "I have given these ungrateful Wonderlanders much and they reward me with rebellion. They complain that I demand too large tributes, taxes and tolls but how else can I afford to keep Wondertropolis as wondrous as it is."

Mahargiana stood next to Alice on a great viewing platform dotted with steammagical cannons and magical bomb droppers. All of the sail-fliers were equipped for heavy battle despite also being gaudily decorative. She spoke. "Wondertropolis is more than just a city; it is your very basis for existence. You literally can not exist with out it. Who is Queen Alice?"

Empress Alice frowned hard, thrusting out her chest and thus her bare breasts. "She was here when I came her and ruled the peoples loosely, inefficiently, of the Wonder Forestlands which are below us now. We are alike in some ways, are linked in some vague unimportant fashion. As a child, of OldEarth, I read often the book called Alice in Wonderland as written by Lewis Carrol, or had it read to me. I created a super virtual reality gameworld based on the story."

Mahargiana sighed. "Perhaps you could decrease the tributes, taxes and tolls."

The Empress shrugged. "Yes, perhaps yes. By 10% I could lessen them or increase them by 10%. I will have to consider the growing rudeness of the Forestlanders. Yes, a nice compromise. I will neither decrease or increase the tributes, taxes and tolls out of generosity."

Mahargiana: "Then the Eternal Guardian will not assist you, will depart."

Alice scowled sweetly. "Oh, very well, a 20% discount on all tributes, taxes and tolls."

Mahargiana shook her head. "A 50% decrease and the Eternal Guardian will show you ways to make the Wondertropolis function more smoothly. We will assist you in many ways."

The Empress gave Mahargiana a sweet calculating look. Then she nodded. "I decree a 50% decrease in all primary, secondary and basic tributes, taxes and tolls. Not that it actually matters because nobody, outside of Wondertropolis, has paid any for many years. Ahead is the Lonely Forest Mountain and there is the Tower of Temporary Truth. I have an army there of steammagical clockworks, golems and vehicles with many brave conscripts most likely all shaking in their boots. My veterans are far too few since I cut their retirement pensions to help pay my lavish wedding to my fifteenth husband, that being shortly after I cut off my fourteenth husband's head when he became boring."

Four 2.2[3][139]

Mahargiana smiled. "His grew back and he became the next husband in a new wedding, he being the CheshireCat."

Empress Alice blushed just a little. "It is very hard to really chop off a head when there becomes only a head as the body vanishes away. He can become a very handsome cat-man and one very well endowed. Still, he has trouble with hair balls and that can be most annoying as we share the same bed."

As they flew over a large town, signals were flashed between the Empress sail-flier and the settlement giving news of the big drop in tributes, taxes and tolls. Other messages were passed, the Empress warning Forestlanders that there was a bigger threat in Wonderland that herself and her followers.

There were many humans, talking animals, beastfolk humanoids, Wondermer, wildfolk and free clockwork people along with other exotic folks.

Empress Alice sighed. "All veterans have regained their full pensions including reimbursements of any lost payments."

Mahargiana nodded. "The truth be known, Empress Alice, but there has every only been one Alice. You, and Queen Alice, are the one and same person. Why do you play such games? What do you hope to gain?"

Empress Alice frowned softly. "What can I say? I get bored! You True Eternals are boringly clever. You come from us but you are not us or of us. The ShadowGod, and ShadowGoddess, are of the same thirteen teen-adults that I came from. They are twins with an unhealthy taste for each other. It would not surprise me that one would become of the undead and the other of the necrolifen."

Alice sat on a regal looking chair while Mahargiana gently, carefully, brushed her beautiful smooth flowing hair. Mahargiana would, now and then, kiss Alice on one of her cheeks. Mahargiana knew how greatly lonely, in pain, was Alice and felt compassion for her but she remained also wary of Empress Alice (Queen Alice).

Orbis [6][140]

Orbis was in many different places at once but also in many times at once.

In the divine magically painted Tamriel, back before it became Magariel, the famous Dunmer painter Rythe Lythadas, was hurrying home after having spent some time at a local tavern drinking too much ale. His wife, Tivela, would not be pleased with his lightly drunken state would be more happy with his purse full of good imperial coinage, most of them being silver denominations. Using a normal set of paintbrushes, he had done a wonderful cityscape showing some buildings plus a street of his home city of Cheydinhal. That was the very city he was in at that moment.

Rythe Lythadas had gained the Brush of Truepaint from the Divine Dibella, the bristles of the divine magical brush being made of her hair. Why? So he could paint a fine divine magical portrait of her, which he did, and the reward for that was the brush itself.

Rythe had always known there was something unusual, perhaps even 'wrong' about his world but after he began using the Brush of Truepaint he became certain of it. He had come to realize that the whole world was a divine magical realm of some kind and that it was not stable. So he had began to create the Painted Sanctuary that he hid even from his good wife, who was cynical of her fears, seeing herself as practical and down to earth.

The street was oddly deserted for early evening. People should have been making their way home from work, or from taverns, to home. People would also be going between other places and there should be such as beggars, Sheriff's people and City Guards.

He looked around and realized, with a shock, that he could not identify the street. Then he turned, a shiver of fear running down his spine, as the shadowy figure laughed and then spoke in the same sharp, cold, arrogant fashion. "A Shadowman I am and I will take that Brush of Truepaint from you, will take it to my secret master, but only after I have given you much pain so that you will tell me all that you have done with that Aedra artifact. Truely I do not know why even a foolish weak Divine would give a mere mortal such a powerful device."

Rythe sighed. "Partly because I divine magically painted Dibella's portrait and she was most pleased with it, a divine magically animated portrait with alterable appearances and backgrounds. Partly because I am no mere mortal but am the Demidivine (demigod) son of Dibella and a mortal man who she chose to seduce for reasons beyond my understanding. I meet his peaceful ghost, now and then, and we speak of much in the way of the arts. He was also a famous artist, in his own time."

Discovering his mistake, too late, the Shadowman whirled and went to flee but Rythe hurled a divine magical solar projectile at the entity and it died with a scream of agony. Rythe then vanished away to appear instantly in his house, in front of his wife. This was embarrasing as he had never told her of his true immortal nature. Tivela scolded him but was soon pleased to know they were to live in the Painted Sanctuary from then on, along with others invited to live there.

It was too bad that Rythe Lythadas had made a possibly very bad mistake, one that would could have grevious consequences in the exotically altered future of the Painted Realm of Realms.

Zero [22][141]

Mahargiata remained in the Transglobe, to be sure it remained secure along with those in it. Entertaining the big DivineDaedric child was a special task in its own right as undertaken by a big stuffed animated toy called Mahargtria (a special aspect of the Eternal Guardian).

Mahargiata took in information from Wonderlanders, that too often came in the craziness that locals considered to be normalcy. Only the great experience, and special skills, of the Eternal Guardian allowed them to easily deal with such concerns and gain real, useful, knowledge of what was going on.

In the Transglobe the mortals had transformed, but not just them, to now fit into the changed Realm of Realms that they had left behind. The Eternal Guardian shifted only in some external details and were amongst the few that knew that there had been changes.

The Hero Demigods were the same and of them Conan, Xena and Gabriel were with the expedition while RedSonja and Lancelot were with a smaller group in the Imperial Palace where they were forced to deal with the intrigues of a mishmash of factions such as the Guildless Guild, the Wonder Toymakers, the Guardians of Nothing and the Hundred Bunny Virgins. The last were clones of the Empress, dressed in very skimpy bunny costumes, who reputation was far from virginal and who numbered over 1,000.

Four 3.1[4][142]

Enemies poured out of the night clad forests being shadowlifen living-dead humanoids in armor and with arms of basic shadow-magic, a kind of necromagic. There appeared also shadowlifen in the form of beasts of multiple kinds. Close to the Mountain, where rose the Tower of Temporary Truth, the battle waged as Empress Alice's expedition came to the rescue of her small army of mainly fearful conscripts.

The sail-fliers dropped bombs and hurled projectiles while Alice's forces, down in a great big grassy clearing where they had dug in on a low hill, hurled projectiles.

Xena, Gabriel and Conan went down to the hill and fought the shadowy monsters as led by shadowgroms (shadow necrogroms). The fighting was brutal and yet the enemy were being destroyed not just by the Expeditionaries, and Alice's forces, but also by local forces coming out of the forest. The very trees seemed to be attacking the enemy, dropping great branches onto them or great coconut like nuts or showering them with splinter like projectiles.

Then it was done, the enemy were destroyed.

Mahargiana found something important that had drawn her. Empress Alice stood beside her as Mahargiana made a great stone disk, embedded into the ground, turn back and forth as she discovered the code of what was a great magical lock as created by the Grand Aldmer before they vanished and the Common Aldmer became the Mazamer of Magariel (as with the changed histories that went with the rise of Magariel).

The disk lowered into the ground and then slid to one side; exposed was a neat round shaft diving vertically into the ground. An awful stink rose up to meet them, along with a mild blast of stale air, and then were gone. Empress Alice frowned. "I remember, do not remember, this place. Grand Aldmer came to me even before I created Wonderworld and then Wonderland and then Wondertropolis. They asked for special help to solve a problem. The help was not for them but to help them repent, for a terrible crime they had committed, and to lock themselves into a heavy place. So I helped them but the horrors, of what I learned, caused me to forget what had happened. How did you know of the disk door in the ground and how to get past it?"

The Eternal Guardian avatar gave a half smile. "A vast amount of research, exploring, and other activity along with the assistance of the 'mentors' that I will not speak further of. This disk door has been opened quite recently which might explain where the shadowlifen forces came from."

The Eternal One stood there almost as if he had always been there. He looked like a Mer version of Sherlock Holmes, complete with deer stalker hat, pipe and coat. Doctor Watson was a beautiful young woman in a lady's dress that went down to her knees and which showed off firm round domes of the tops of her breasts. She was a secondary avatar of the Eternal One.

He spoke, after taking a puff of his pipe and releasing a softly glowing smoke ring that drifted up into the sky. "No, the shadowlifen did not come from down there but their appearance is linked with that event."

Four 3.2[5][143]

Doctor Watson spoke. "We speak of the divine magically painted Grand Aldmer but one needs to know that they somehow formed a subtle, but strong, link to the real Grand Aldmer of the real Tamriel of the real Mundus. Wonderworld exists on the very edge between the real Mundus and the Painted Realm of Realms."

Alice frowned. "We found that we could not truly repaint the real Mundus and that we needed to create a reflection of the real Mundus so as to move on to gaining our own hybrid realms; so we made plans to create the divine magically painted copy of Mundus. Part way through making the Painted Realm of Realms we were struck by a terrible storm of powers, with something we had no real understanding of. We were scattered and I arrived here to create Wonderworld, Wonderland and Wondertropolis."

A slight wind stirred through the trees and some birds sat on a tree whistling music with tin whistles. They danced a fine jig while they did so.

The CheshireCat formed out of mid air, going from tail first until all of him was there as one very big cat with great big cat eyes that glowed softly. "I was also of the thirteen teenagers. I was Alice's half brother! I landed here about the same time Alice did. My name was Tom but now I am the CheshireCat, the Emperor in service to the Empress and head of security intelligence of Wondertropolis and Wonderland. The rest of Wonderworld has gone chaotic with craziness and is beyond our control."

Empress Alice nodded though frowning as if she had not really wanted CheshireCat to speak of such things. "Now great walls, towers, forts and a few citadels surround Wonderland. Even the Wonderlanders know it is better to 'man' the walls, the towers, the forts and the citadels. We have come to suspect that the chaos, of Wild Wonderworld, is caused by another of the teen-adults. That makes five of us identified, if one counts the ShadowGod and ShadowGoddess. Of course that is only a guess."

The Eternal One, Sherlock Holmes, shook his pipe at Alice. "Now, now, who are they?"

Alice frowned hard and then shrugged. "Harry, who is now Emperor Harrista of the Wonder Deeps, and Doris who is now Empress Dorisana of the Paradise Archipelago. So that probably makes six of us identified."

Sherlock Holmes just smiled.

Alice frowned harder. "The Wonderdarkside is the underground flip side of Wonderland both underground and upside down except that when you are there, in which case Wonderland is upside down. President Hiphopster rules the Wonderdarkside, at least in theory, at least when he has both feet on the ground. He is one of us, making seven identified and five of us in Wonderworld. Before troubles began in Wonderland he sent a rare message and, unlike his previous messages, it was at least half understandable. He was asking for help, also a first. At first I was reluctant but then CheshireCat reported troubles starting in Wonderland. So I sent Queen Alice, my clone daughter, to assist that fool along with quite a large army of clockworks, conscripts and talking animals. I figured there might be a link between the two sets of troubles. Only there have been no further messages from Wonderdarkside."

Four 3.3[6][144]

The Eternal One nodded. "Mahargiana, I would like you and the three Hero Demigods with you, to come with me down that shaft. Empress Alice, CheshireCat, you will need to protect Wonderland, including Wondertropolis of course, from more than one kind of danger. Mahargiata will travel, with the others, in the Transglobe to the Wonderdarkside. We are getting closer to some real answers to an ancient mystery of mysteries. The Painted Realm of Realms is sealed off from us, for now, as it goes through a final stabilization transformation but perhaps some resources can be gained from there and also from other sources."

Alice went to protest but suddenly looked puzzled as if she wondered why she would bother.

Doctor Watson smiled at her. "Do not concern yourself, Alice, many go through such moments when confronting the Eternal One, the core of the eternal ebbing flow of the True Eternius. I will stay with you and will assist you to solve important puzzles that you do not even know exist yet. I am very good at brushing both hair and fur."

CheshireCat purred happily at the idea. Alice then started to smile at the idea of being fussed over as any true empress should be.

Which was when, with a shimmering effect and a strange thrum thrum sound, a blue police box appeared out of mid air. Except for the True Eternals, all were surprised.
