master_axe
Hey, I'm kinda confused right now... I've tested for 2 hours now, and I've come to the conclusion that I cannot make my own Spell which has more than one effect... :(. I cannot, for example, mix frost and shock damage, or fire damage and fire weakness. The extra skill reqs and magicka go up with more effects, but only the first is used during the spell. So, for example, when i made a spell with 30 health absorb and 30 health restore, i pay like 100 magicka, to absorb 30 health, thats it. Is this a bug, or should it be this way? This is not the same for weapons, which can have many effects, and they all apply. Armor and accessories can only have one effect??? Weird, kinda sux, is that true? Thx for your help, Franz
ThetaOrionis01
I'm not sure if you can have both on touch/target and on self effects in the same spell - I haven't tried it, but maybe someone else can confirm whether it is or isn't possible? Maybe your spell both absorbs health from and restores health to the recipient? Having two separate on target effects works fine, though - my drain health + soul trap spell keeps me in filled soulgems.
master_axe
ehm, i had weakness to fire and fire dam 30, and depending on which was in first place (when making the spell), only one was applied. An easy test, if the weakness is applied, the character turns black, and damage is obvious, if you apply it to a lvl 1 skeleton :D. None of that works for me, and yes, they're all on target/ touch. Youre right on the absorb and restore health thing though... but why would i still be allowed to create the spell? If it doesnt works, it should be locked somehow. Plus, can i remove the DURATION OF 1 SEC on my spells? thx, Franz
SoulBlazer_87
Don't know about you but I combine spell effects but I alwaysmake sure they are either target or touch or personnal. I never mix them and they work out great until now. For example I give Soul Trap effect for 2 sec. and add some health damage, make them both touch effects and voila easy way to fill your soul gems especially if you are heavy on combat. I can't do it either, it only lets me do one!
SoulBlazer_87
The effects are not visual but effective nonetheless... Example: Lets say you make a spell dealing 5 shock damage, 5 fire, 5 frost, and 3 health. The icon of the said spell should apear as either shock damage or fire damage of frost or health damage (usually the most powerfull effect). When you cast the spell the projectile or particles or whatever will show as if there only was ONE effect. HOWEVER if you really look at the damage you deal or the effects that you infict upon the targetthen you will see that they are all effective. So inthis case the damage by this spell would be greater than that of a spell dealing 5 points of only one type. It might be confusing but try the previous spell that I posted (combo of soul trap and damage). In that case if you manage to kill your opponent you will get to trap his soul, even though the animation etc will not show use of the soul trapping effect. It might be very confusing but thats how it works... don't know why. About this ask Bethsoft...anotther thing might be a bug but I doubt it... master_axe
Indeed, but I've tested what you just named... and for me, I can't mix spells, soul trap might work, but not weaknesses and/ or mulitple damage. With weapons, you don't see the effect, apart from one, but you get all the damage. Not with spells, at least not for me.
SoulBlazer_87
Don't know but it works fine for me... try reinstalling your game and/or checking for conflicts with any plug-ins you might use.
