Crashing at sartup

I haven't got to play at all yet... It just crashes all the time at startup. I have searched for a possible solution, but without results.

So:

AppName: fallout3.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.15 ModName: fallout3.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.15 Offset: 00749135

That's what i get. I meet all the requirements for the game, except for video driver. I have Radeon X600, but i somewhere learned that it should work. Also, does the location affect? I have mine in "E:\Sami\Pelit\Fallout 3".

And as the official forums are down, i can't go there looking & whining...

What OS [operating system] do you have?

Is Pelit Turkish for program directory?

Also E: would be CD/ DVD Rom drive, on my PC it is

The game should install itself in three parts of your PC, the program directory, My Documents/My games and then two ini or word documents files should be in Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/Application Data /Fallout 3 the two ini files there well be called DLCList and plugins note that Local Settings and Application Data files are hidden folders and you have to have hidden folders checked or dotted to see them , I'm using Windows XP Pro SP3

Sami is my name and "Pelit" means "Games" :D It's Finnish.

I have two usable drives, C:\ and E:\, and D:\ is my CD/DVD ROM drive. I have XP Professional SP3.

Have you managed to play the game before? Have you mods?

The game crashing from the very beginning most of times implies the lacking of a master file some active mod depends (the in(famous) ESMs).

So, if you removed something recently that may be the reason.

Now, if it's not the case, there is something you should attempt before doing something more drastic, that is backup and delete the Oblivion.ini file you find navigating through the My Documents folder, My Games\Oblivion. The game will build a freshen one and hopefully without whatever is causing problem.

But if you play for sometime now and have several mods, chances are the problem is there but we can't do anything to help without knowing the mods you run and their "load order".

I haven't managed to play it before... I installed it a few days back, and it hasn't worked a single time. And i don't have any mods.

And how does Oblivion relate to this? I do have that game also, and it works fine... I suppose you meant i should delete fallout.ini or whatever it is.

Now i know why no one has found a solution to this problem (all problems like this of mines, at least those i'm aware of, have remained unsolved)... That's because after a few answers the post is forgotten for ever... Damn...
