Alixen
Are the Enclave finally wiped out? They are pretty much decimated in all three Fallout games. Was Eden's Enclave their swan song? I really hope not. I'd really like to be able to join them as a faction in Vegas. I'd like to see them in the eventual Fallout 4. It's fun Roleplaying a wasteland, a valut dweller, a brotherhood knight and so forth... but occasionally it's fun to Roleplay a soldier of the Enclave. Their high tech and bad attitude make them feel different when RPing. Right now using the Eagle has Landed mod i'm RPing a young female Enclave Officer. And it's very different to my other characters. The wasters are all sub-human to her, useful for menial wok, but pretty much mutants like SMs and ghouls. Still, she is slowly being forced to realise that some of them are actually pretty decent. But she's still all Enclave. It's interesting. So... do you think we've seent he last of the Enclave in FO3? roguim
No i don't thing it's the last time we met The Enclave. It survive the destruction of Oil -Rig in Fallout 2 and will survive the destruction of Raven Rock and the Mobile crawler in Fallout 3 /Broken Steel The same that happen with the Super mutant they still go even the master Death in Fallout ( the first one the Enclave didn't appeared). Maybe some survival official ( Like Auturm if the player didn't kill him) would take the remain of Enclave and try a counter-attack in Fallout 4 ( i don't know about Vegas). Only thing this as opposite as Oblivion when after you and Martin defeat Dagon and all the Oblivion gates closes, the Enclave still a "strong" presence in the wasteland after the defeat at Raven Rock and Adams Air Base. Malikin
There is just so much potential for hiding spots all over the country. What about Canada.. I am sure they might have a thing up their sleeve. What about the Commonwealth? Is there a limit? The Enclave could be anywhere.... I a anxious to see what the next generation of fallout games will look like, if they get there. Now I am thinking beyond New Vegas. But that is neither here nor there. Personally I am a fan of a character coming out of cryo freeze in some med west vault, or something. Who knows.. ~Mal
Burbinator
I don't doubt there might still be remnants of the US government/military out there (overseas military base anyone?) but I don't think they'd be "enclave", persay. It'd make more sense if the US government sort of split up into groups simply because initially they were all isolated and started pursuing competing goals. And there's no more official president, the "formal" government of the US was destroyed on the oilrig and the direct subordinates of them have been pretty much decimated in fo3. Really wish they would leave the enclave in peace after this game. Recurring villains are annoying as hell. A few references here and there, maybe a single isolated enclave base, but no more being the major plot point anymore, please. Feels like my efforts in the previous games were sorta pointless, and also it's terribly uncreative. I hope the history of post apocalyptia is more than battles against the enclave. Honestly I think the plot of fo1 was the most interesting.
evilneko
I think they should be pretty much done, depending on where on the timeline new games are set. They should continue to play a part, even if a small one, in any game, with their influence determined by where that game sits in the space and time of Falloutverse. Post-Broken Steel, clearly any Enclave on the east coast should be in a defensive mode, but what about the Midwest, or the west coast? They've had well over a century since previous games to recover--or to break up, die, fade away, or change into something different. Maybe some groups broke away to form their own faction, like Elder Lyons and the east coast Brotherhood.
Tertisentar
I'd like Vegas to have some sort of enclave bunker or base with a subquest or two of it's own surrounding it and the respective lore after the other fallouts, but not as the main opponent. There's much more to work with that deserve a spot equally well.
Nihilisaurus
The Enclave Are like the Daleks, ridiculously High tech and completely incapable of giving up. Remember these guys are the only ones in the world with working aircraft and power armor manufacture. An oil rig? A SINGLE pre-war government bunker? The president was chowing down on steak with vintage wine whilst there were food riots, somehow I think they'd stashed away a bit more than that... How'd they get all the way across the country? What about Pearl Harbour and Hawaii? They'll be back, whether it's through vanilla or modding, they're too rich an evil side to discard, especially as FO3's mutants were MUCH more 2d than the previous ones... loopz
The Enclave are working for Doc Mitchell in New Vegas. He's having trouble with those hard-to-get stubborn stains.
Burbinator
They'll be back, whether it's through vanilla or modding, they're too rich an evil side to discard, "too rich an evil side"? 1) They have no ongoing story with them. We already know their complete backstory: US govt remnant. Only, since you keep destroying them, they have no consistent goals, leaders, or anything really besides appearance and technology. So why in god's name should we keep bringing them back? Do you want a recurring villain like some kids show where the villain just keeps popping out with crazy schemes to be beaten down by the triumphant hero? I'm kind of surprised the enclave even gets this much support. I would've hoped people would want more depth than that. 2) There's no reason for other remnants of the US government to be enclave. They were separated for a long time and had to turn to other leadership besides the president to survive. Look at BoS, they were originally part of the military and turned rogue. FO3's mutants were MUCH more 2d than the previous ones 3) I always felt the fallouts were sort of how the wastelands would evolve and adapt after civilization ended. I really liked how vault city, new reno, and NCR were all sort of in a power struggle over Redding to control its gold mines. New powers spring up, resources start to be fought over, etc. How supermutants would adapt to life in the wastelands, now that the Master and his plan are dead, would be very interesting indeed. Much more so than just the enclave coming up yet again with some plan to screw everyone else over. It's a shame FO3 completely threw out all humanization of supermutants to make them simple monsters. But they still have potential. Perhaps as a race they too might form a new community, similar to broken hills. Maybe they might come into conflict with the ghouls, or ally with them against humans, or seek a cure to the changes the FEV virus made, or whatever. You get the point.
