Hey there,

 

My FPS counter disappeared after using ENBoost successfully for some time.

 

my desktop rig:

i5 4690k @ 4.5ghz

Asus z97 mainboard with 8gb G-skill Ripjaw ddr3 RAM

dual 2GB Radeon 7870 with crossfire

1TB SETA-3 Solid State western digital HD for O/S

2TB SETA-6 Seagate Barracuda HD for games, programs etc.

 

Win 7 64bit

 

Skyrim 1.9.32.0 is installed in two locations, one for steam that I DON'T use and one in F:\Skyrim that I do.

Load Order is stable and I'm getting well over 60fps as well as keeping my script latency hovering around 50ms. I tested the game by using the console commands:

player.setav speedmult 1500
TCL

and then flying all over skyrim as fast as I possibly could. Got some pretty noticeable stutters but never crashed. Then I used the 28 step stress test posted by tonycubed2 on is SoT forum and passed with flying colors. In other words I tried really really hard to crash the game and couldn't. (Insert s#*!-eating grin here)

 

So I'm confused. I mean everything was (and apparently still is) working just fine. I just can't get the FPS counter to show up.

 

I have completely reinstalled the ENBseries files, rebuilt the enblocal from scratch, made sure the enbhelper.dll was in enbseries... and I STILL don't have that counter.

 

I have to confess to being utterly dumbfounded. I simply have no earthly idea what would cause that function to stop working. It's so confusing that I've started to think in terms of gremlins and ghosts in the machine. So if anyone has a clue as to what I did to shoot myself in the foot... as with the ENBoost installed that really is my only option for an fps counter... I'd really - REALLY - like to know what it is. If you know and can share it with me you will be doing my sanity a much needed service.

Thanks for that but uhm... no. And to be clear I did just check your suggestion. It doesn't work.

 

It WAS the * key in the number pad. I haven't changed any of the input settings in any of the ini files and I'm using the same files now that I installed a week ago. So, in other words, yesterday I pressed the * key and I got my FPS counter. Today no matter what I press I get no fps counter.

 

Which leaves me very confused. Is it possible for something to BLOCK the functioning of ENBoost? I have enbhost.exe set to admin. I've quadruple checked my enblocal.ini against the Speed and Stability guide from Boris, Sheson, Mangaclub, ewi65, etc. And it was all working. Since last night, when it was working, I added khajiit speak, played for a while (and it was working) then shut down the machine. Yet when I started it this morning I cannot get the FPS counter to work. I have tried rebooting, reinstalling ENBoost. I have tried changing security settings. All I can think is that some value in one ini or another got changed from a 0 to 1 or something and I have no idea where to look.

From what i understood, the above setting is for people that only want the ENBboost feature and none of the Rest of ENB is enabled....try setting that to False..if the rest of ENB starts working including the FPS counter you have your answer.

Don't take this wrong- did you accidentally hit "Num Lock?"

( I've spent a long time on the internet personally trying to restore functionality when it turned out I had hit F-lock by accident!)

I'll give it a shot but I'm not and have not been using any ENB preset and the FPS counter did work just fine beforehand.

I guess the part I don't understand is that all of my enb files are set up exactly the way they were for the last week when everything was working. Yet now, all of a sudden, I've got no FPS counter. So... there's this little light in my brain flashing "does not compute." I just cannot think of what might be preventing it.
