DrNewcenstein
I can think of 2 ways to make this happen:1: Leveled Lists which distribute the inventory of NPCs (as well as the NPCs themselves) would have to be generated for every NPC, even List-Generated NPCs. Consider how many "nameless nobodys" there are in the game, and imagine each of them having a leveled list of owned items.2: The corpse itself would have to be marked as an owned Container of their associated Faction. Option 2 seems more plausible and less bloated. However, if there was no witness, there was no crime. One thing that bugged me about Oblivion was the "unseen forces have witnessed your crime" and ratted you out to the cops. That was weak. "The Gods" were nowhere to be found when Marauders and Bandits and monsters were in your grill, but they were eager to see you hanged for petty theft. What's needed here instead is either the survivors carry off their dead so they can't be looted, loot their gear themselves, or leave them where they lie and let whoever wishes to scavenge them. However, looting the dead is considered fair play in the Elder Scrolls universe. You're even prompted to do so in the beginning if you follow Ralof into the Keep - stating that "he won't be needing it anymore". It's accepted as a necessity and part of life.

It's accepted as a necessity and part of life. This is actually mostly incorrect. Excluding the instance you mentioned it is not "promoted". You see when prisoners are running away they tend to do illegal things. It happens. And you were running away with a known war criminal (Betrayed his kingdom). Not to mention people do illegal things for the sake of survival a lot. It Is Still Illegal. Option #2 seems like the thing that would be needed. Like each corpse is treated as a container owned by their faction and yeah just like any other crime no one sees no one cares. Because that is how it goes. hoesaeg
Well I think here´s mora a "Morality" discussion of what is "correct" or "wrong" to do, but in a lot of countries as of today that is how things work, that is how things worked in the past and the only things you couln't take were the ones owned from the rich, the governants and priests... (just because that's how morality rolls in the world).
threefoldmind
Well I am actually pretty sure it was one of the legal "grey" things, as not outlawing looting promotes murdering people in droves. I mean if I kill a ton of people and you come along and take the things that actually illegal and probably has been for quite some time.
DoctorKaizeld
why are we talking morality here? seriously i dont care if you wish to discuss this, but that's not honestly all to important. the OP made a request and that request is his and his alone if you dont want to help him out by making it than why are you here talking to him about morality? are any of you able to make the mod the OP is asking for? if not leave him alone, he asked for something it doesn't matter why he wants it. so please go back to talking about how to make this possible instead of continuing down the bunny trail to no where. i have seen too many people get turned down for this request to see new people, who might have the answer to this mod, waste time bickering over lore.
