I am about to commit suicide of these stupid googly eyes.

how do i add a bash patch tag in wrye bash? maybe if everything was tagged correctly it might help...

I have no clue, and can't look it up here... no wrye bash (or oblivion) installed on this computer. I'm working mostly from memory here. :)

The problem is simple.... Your original eye textures were replaced by mod that changes the eye textures and meshes.

Uninstalling any eye-replacing/eye-changing mods. This includes removing the eye meshes in your Data\meshes\character folder, and any eye textures in you Data\Textures\Characters folder. After this, the .BSA will kick in and return the eyes to normal.

I hope I wasn't too late... This happened to me once too.

Edit: I too had to reinstall Oblivion the first time this happened to me. I learned after-wards to never download any custom eye mods.

You see, some install different eye-meshes that read the eye-textures differently. They have a separate set of textures to go with them. When using that eye mesh with Vanilla textures, the textures will 'wrap' around the mesh differently and will produce the googly eye effect. Custom races that are suseptible to this, because they use default vanilla meshes when it comes to the eyes. The eye-replacing mod usually only affects vanilla races, and even with the eye-replacing mod still activated it will cause non-vanilla races to appear googly.

I sympathize, because I really fckn hate those fckn googly eyes.

I was just about to suggest the same thing Trandoshan said. The vanilla eyes are mirrored meaning both eyes are identical and use the same part of the texture. The Ren mod separated the eye meshes by having a specific Left and Right eye where the left eye pulled from one part of the texture and the right eye pulled from a different part of the texture...this allowed eyes to be different...such as a blind eye or one eye red and the other blue. Most other eye mods expect the eye meshes to be the vanilla eyes and thus the textures fit differently on the Ren eyes (causing the black, white and googly eyes).

As suggested, uninstall any eye mods or other race/beauty mods that have eyes in them...then make sure there are no files in the corresponding mesh and texture folders.
