I CAN'T SIT

I have this stupid problem that I can't sit down.

when I activate a chair it goes to third person and freezes my character for a few seconds.

I've ignored it for a time but when I got to the vault 112 quest

you have to sit down in that simulator thingy BUT I CAN'T . :pinch:

 

I use mods,Fose,Fomm and all DLC expansion packs.

I've tried to solve it by deactivating all mods and by reinstalling the game (not the mods) but it doesn't help. :sweat:

Use FOIC to clean out your Data dir. Leave FOMM, FOSE and your DLCs as they are but reinstall the Mods you need.

FOIC didn't work

I've reinstalled the whole game + the mods

I've tried the game before installing the mods and it didn't work

The wrierd thing is that the pipboy didn't work either

What can be the cause?!

If you reinstall the game, you should always delete the entire game directory as well, since there are Mods left which might cause all the trouble.

I've used the guide to completely reinstall the game.

I've started a new game and I CAN SIT! :biggrin:

After that I tried the old character and I can't sit with that one so I'll have to start over.

The best thing is that it's solved so thanks for the help.

it works for a new character

 

doesn't work for an old character

 

with the same install

 

ZOMG this smells like something from Oblivion called "Animation Bug"

How many hours have you played with the old save (should be somewhere in the save)

Might sound simple but you haven't done the tai console command on your character by any chance?

Nope I didn't turn off the AI

had the same problem get naked and try sitting

if it works then add gear one item at a time till it wont sit and freezes

that's the offender then just unequipp the item when you want to sit
