Downloading with Free Download Manager

Ok, Im not sure where to post this but here goes. I really have a crappy net (broadband) which has been on/off for sometime now. Ive been contacting the ISP for months but that's another story.

I want to ask if there is a way to download using free download manager? This program allows to continue downloads if it accidentally stops. I really want to play a mod named Returm to Korkari wilds, but i can't because my internet keeps on disconnecting.

Any help guys? Or maybe someone could post a torrent link for it

First off, I gotta tell you that we can't post torrent links here

Its been years since I checked around for DL managers, since most of them nowadays either include a bunch of toolbar crap, or have spyware in um. I do believe however, that there are plugins for the FireFox browser which enable the ability to pause and resume broken DL's.

But, what I can do, is see if maybe I can get a better idea of what's going on with your net conn and see if maybe we can work on getting some of that straightened out for ya.

1) Is the problem intermittent Service from the PROVIDER, or an issue with your HOME Network?

1a) What kind of provider is it? School? Satelite? DSL? Cable?

2) Do you use a router? Or just a modem?

2a) Wireless, or connected by hardline?

3) How many in your household share this connection?

3a) Do others in the household have the same issue?

4) Is the device a PC or a laptop?

5) Which operating system? Windows? Mac? Linux?

6) Is it a recent issue, or has the problem always been there?

6a) If it's a recent issue, what changes have been made since it started?

Sorry to revive the thread, but I'm having semi similar issues and also need a download manager to retain my humanity.

1. The problem is that my ISP is hughesnet

1a. Satellite with 200Meg a day cap

2. Satellite Modem + wrt54g2 wireless with dd-wrt firmware

3. Two people (generally)

3a. I'm the only one who is mod hunting

4. Technically both, depending on which machine I'm using

5. Laptop - Vista Home Premium x32 : desktop - Windows 7 Ultimate 64x

6. It's always been an issue

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I have (roughly) 3 gigs of new mods waiting to be downloaded

Unfortunately download managers don't work with the normal member download servers. It prevents file leeching and people opening stupid amounts of threads to download files.

Premium members can use download managers so long as the download manager works with cookies (such as DownThemAll!).
