Yes, but the question is what is going to come out first, ES5 or FO4.

 

New Vegas isn't really a Fallout 4 because it is being made by obsidian. When Fallout 4 comes out it will most likely be made by Bethesda.

He means TES5. Meaning The Elder Scrolls 5. Bethesda's other series which has been plagued with no sequel for some time.

 

Otherwise, wait for New Vegas. You might have to wait a while for another Fallout game so be prepared for disappointment as to the possibility of a Fallout 4 in the near future

A: Focusing on upgrading and advancing a Engine for Either FO4 or TES5.

B: Working on a Feature length title for Fallout or TES using the current engine.

C: Working on a new IP.

D: All of the above.

 

My money is on D.

Umm that's not why it's not Fallout 4. Many studios license out actual sequels to other studios.

 

One could actually make the argument that New Vegas is more Fallout 3 and Bethesdas game is more of a Fallout DC. But that's really not important.

 

I think there are some reasons that will come to light in the next couple of years why Fallout NV isn't going to be Fo4 but I will hold my hat until I see what happens.

bethesda, as developers, are not working on a new IP.

 

they have been working on the engine... for around 10 years... and the programing team hasn't been idle.

 

for their next game, which is widely believed to be tes5, it is known that they have been tweaking the engine, specifically the way animations are handled. I have speculated this means new middleware implimentation combined with overhaul the built in animation engine.

 

they are very likely well into the game, as they have been working on it for a number of years in some capacity. probably were overhauling the new engine build back in 2007-08 ish...

 

If their nest game is indeed tes5, f4 will be several years off from now. at least 2 years after they release the game the are currently working on. probably more like 3. so if that comes sometime in 2011. then F4 could be as far off as 2014- which happens to be general speculated timeframe for the industry to be ramping up for the next gen of consoles... though i think f4 will probably be for 360 either way..
