Kelranox
So, I was finally able to start a new game after having installed Deadly Reflex. I simply downloaded OBMM and rearranged a few of my mods. However, I'm a tad bit unsure as to how I am to go about setting the proper keys. I'm met with a dialogue box which tells me to set a key for shield bash/etc. So, whenever I press a key after that, how can I be sure that it set? Also, what else should I know about the attacks/skills you can utilize? I'm assuming you'd simply have to wait in order to learn them as you progress? Germandeathkittiez
Deadly Reflex works by chance, not skill, so you don't have to wait for your character to progress, just test out the keys you input and go up to someone and try to use moves on them to test it out. I haven't actually seen any change in combat. I pressed a key after it told me to (G) and from what I can tell, the combat is still the same. =/
MichikoUnknownFox
Well, what The Black Ninja said isn't entirely true. For example, you need to be able to use Left/Right and Back Power Attacks (Blade or Blunt skill 50 & 75 respectively or more) to use the Deadly Reflex power attack critical hits. Some of the moves don't require that much skill, such as the sleep kill. Other moves like sneak attacks don't have any skill requirements, but you're less likely to succeed with low skills. Either you get detected before you get close enough, or they can dodge or shield bash you away. For the others, such as the shield bash/punch key and the dodge key, they work as soon as you press the key you assigned. Just try it and you'll see. All of this is documented in Deadly Reflex's readme, though, which I highly recommend you read through. There's a reason mod authors write those, you know. :P

MichikoUnknownFox
Use the Deadly Reflex Reset item in your inventory and try it again. If it still doesn't work, let us know. Also, make sure you load Deadly Reflex near the end of your load order. The only things that should be below this are companion mods (if you use any) and the Bashed Patch (if you use Wrye Bash). If you don't have either of these, load Deadly Reflex dead last.

MichikoUnknownFox
If you don't have the Deadly Reflex Reset item in your inventory then it somehow didn't install properly. Make sure you're running it with the latest version of OBSE as well. I recommend you uncheck all Deadly Reflex related mods, save your game, exit the game and check them all again, then start Oblivion up again. You should see the message boxes for picking new keys. After picking the keys, do not move or press anything until you see a message "Thank you, you are ready to play" or something similar to that. In addition, you should also see the Deadly Reflex Reset item in your inventory, under the Misc Items category.
