It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 75.2[115]

Hunting Down Conspiracies

Amanda searched for an answer to how the big gun had been destroyed and then she saw it. A zetan saucerjet was shooting through the air. No, there were three of them in a triangluar formation with a single one to the fore. Missiles were launched at them and special high velocity autocannons fired away. Yet it was a pulselaser battery that brought down the first strange shaped saucerjet. It partly exploded and then spiraled down to strike the ground with an explosion, leaving a trail of smoke behind it.

What were the zetans doing in the Lunar Overworld? Had the Graynari sent them to fight against the enemies of the SavaCompact? If so were the Graynari allied to the SavaCompact?

A MoonEagle sped after the surviving saucerjets, missiles and rockets being launched to destroy a second saucerjet while the third suddenly shot upwards in a bid to escape to freedom. Missiles came down from Lunar Orbit to disintegrate it.

Amanda turned to the rainbow dressed man, small and fat with an umbrella and a large suitcase that he held up with ease. It was almost as if he had always been there.

He spoke. "No, I am not one of the Mahargs, bless them for their ever effortless efforts. I am the LittleFatMan and that moment of death, and destruction, was an important one. The Graynari told the zetans that any attack would have Graynari support but, as in so many other cases of betrayal, when the zetans attacked there was no support. The zetans will at last rebel against the Graynari, will even dare to fight the Graytari in order to be free of an ancient, insane contract long over paid by the zetans. Long ago promised freedom failed to arise and instead Graynari oppression, of the Zetanic Empire, has steady increased. There are many factions trying to hunt down conspiracies."

Amanda frowned. "There have always been conspiracies but mostly of the more mundane kind based on general fear, greed and a profound lack of wisdom. In hunting down conspiracies some factions are actually trying to find something that lies behind those conspiracies. It is hard to not jump at shadows, especially ones created by one's own fears. Yet there is growing death, destruction, disruption and even over reactions amongst some."

The LittleFatMan nodded. "Answers are being sought but perhaps the wrong questions are being asked."

Adapted, upgraded, Chieftan battletanks moved across the landscape with other machines. The battletanks fired their powerful 120mm calibre smooth bore cannons even as they kept moving, their barrels raised quite high to take advantage of the lesser gravity. It was not a new offensive but two brigades moving up to reinforce a forward position.

The LittleFatMan sighed. "Take this suitcase to your wonderful husband. He will know what to do with it, as an aspect of the Eternal Seeker. You are pregnant with triplets. Armstrong is the father and, because of that, the children will be born as True Eternals of a special set of powers. Congratulations."

Then he was gone, almost as if he had never been there.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

Armstrong was joined by Amanda, who passed him the rainbow suitcase as given to her by the LittleFatMan. They went to the Transglobe before opening it.

The fighting continued in the Lunar Overworld with the SavaCompact being driven back by the newly arising FreeAlliance. Many Lunatyr, that had once fought for the SavaCompact, now fought against it.

A few more glimmerfogs appeared in areas where more of the comet-projectiles had crashed into ocean waters of the Known Ordered World. A medium sized luxury ocean liner vanished and was hunted for even as two more glimmerfogs were found and destroyed by military forces. Then a small Japanese atomic submarine vanished in the deeper parts of the South Eastern Asian Sea. How could this have anything to do with the glimmerfogs when they could not go down into salt waters with out being destroyed?

Frankie joined Brent, and others, on the cabincruiser taken from Avint Haining. The vessel's appearance had been altered enough so that it looked like another vessel. Various things had been destroyed, sometimes after studies on them had been made. The Maharg Foundation created the official documentation to prove that the vessel belonged to it.

Gravet Maharg kept on trying to deal with the flow of glimmerpods from the AraArtifacts, trying to service them back into a harmonious balance so that such would not happen. Glimmerpods were still emerging but less of them, less often. There were still other forces misusing AraArtifacts and Gravet Maharg was having trouble tracking them down.

Grahen Maharg, Jane Bond, and others kept exploring the ancient, dark, Roman Empire temple that was deep beneath the Vatican.

Graham Maharg was with a male Bobbie, and supersoldiers, in a transforming Alternate Earth History, was busy hacking very advanced, complicated and exotic computer network-systems. The technologies, the set-up, spoke of more than human influence from that timespace. That complex, beneath the city of Perth, was turning out to be far more than even Graham Maharg had guessed it would be.

Graham Mahrg was seeking the answers to what had happened to former Cardinal Barringja, who had vanished in Ayers Rock City in a most disturbing fashion.

Graham Maharg was also doing other deeds in many timespace locations.

Scully and Mulder were busy in the AraAncient complex close to Moontown as Stella and Mack appeared in Ayers Rock (Uluru) as XFF Agents oddly much alike Scully and Mulder. With them appeared other XFF Agents such as Monica, the Anderson Family Team and the Sage Sisters.

A series of odd political shifts, movements and other activity was happening around the Known Ordered World. Strong anti-Havenlander forces were arising, being heavily resourced by unknown forces though many suspected it was the Cult Conspiracy who was behind what was happening. The Cult Conspiracy had been damaged many times by the Havenlanders, a few times when they attacked the Havenlanders, and the conspiracy had come to hate the Havenlanders.

UK Prime Minister Harold Saxon spoke of the need for a large UN Mandated Lunar Overworld Colony that he called Lunar Paradise.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

Kaylee, in another Alternate, was busy preparing to go with Humphree to meet the stranger that Humphree had 'dreamed' of. Others would go with them.

Bobbie, the female one, was in yet another timespace and was about to do something, along with twelve others, that would have amazing ramifications.

Zetans fought against Graynari, and few Graytari, in the solar system 'close' to Jupiter and its moons. Both sides gained allies but the zetans gained more though they tended to be wary ones. The Graynari had many enemies.

A civil war began in the PanAxis as a new alliance rose against the oppressive, increasing insane, government based in NewBerlin. The rebels would create the Pangermanic Republic to replace the PanAxis. Fighting was soon savagely brutal.

Ripples of change, as caused by the Timespace Transformation, as triggered by the Timespace Event, continued to flow outwards through time, space, alternates and other dimensions. This caught the attention of other entities, as it was bound to do.

The Orbis continued to observe.

The Writer

He wipes sweat from his face and gently, firmly, pushes the black sewer rat away with one of his old boots. Around him the big old castle dungeon is dotted with skeletons hanging from chains. They are having quiet conversations with each other, not wanting to disturb the Writer.

Feeling 'down in the dungeon', the Writer is worried that his story is getting too complicated. He wonders how he can solve this problem before it happens.

Would it help if he learned how to tap dance?

As if in response to this idea, a trio of tap dancing rats come into the dungeon and he watches them with some amusement.

Combine character streams!?

Clarify story directions!?

Analyze decriptions of ultrasonic fictional meanings!?

Introduce more :ninja: and-or :pirate: and-or  and-or even :psyduck: !?

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 77.1[118]

Hunting Down Conspiracies

Gravet Maharg merged into energy armor, becoming an extremely powerful and dangerous fighting figure. As he zigzagged crazily across the great metallic stone chamber, he smashed aside glistening oily plastic humanoid figures that burned away even as they flew through the air; he was more than just hitting them so that was no accident. Thrown figures struck others, destroying them also.

Identical figures were summoned up, some being real and some being amazingly clever decoys. They were lesser aspects of the Eternal Guardian but still greatly powerful. The decoys had enough presence, and threat, to confuse the lesser enemies.

Manifestations of the Eternal Traitor also known as the Eternal Manipulator who became the first of the 'true' False Eternals that went on to create other False Eternals.

The big figure, a bigger version of the glistening black oily humans doing the fighting, stood and fought with projections of malignant psychic-spiritual kinds. They failed to truly damage Gravet Maharg, only disturbing him, but the attacks swept away a few of his allies.

Of course the aspect, of the Eternal Manipulator, assumed that Gravet Maharg wanted to attack it directly and Gravet Maharg wanted the 'Eternal Fool' to think so. Gravet Maharg wanted to do something much more clever, more subtle.

Perhaps realizing that the Eternal Guardian was up to something canny, even if it did not know what that was, the Eternal Manipulator vanished and its lesser aspects did the same.

Gravet Maharg stopped moving and his allies, along with the decoys, vanished away.

Why the sudden attack there, and then, against him while he was attempting to stabilize the AraArtifacts?

He did not bother to look around at the LittleFatWoman, who stood there in rainbow garbs and with a warm comforting smile, almost as if she had always been there. The Eternal Guardian was vastly old but this one was far far more vastly ancient than any of the True Eternals with only a very small number of exceptions. "The Eternal Manipulator is a primary element of the Great Enemy! Are we asking the right questions? I suspect not. In doing what I am doing, am I doing what needs to be done or am I doing more wrong? It somehow feels right!"

Hunting Down Conspiracies

The LittleFatWoman sighed. "Sweetie, you Eternal Guardian always did stress too much over your duties but then again, you carry much responsibility. The Eternal Manipulator is here to cause trouble but is, as always, but a puppet of the Great Enemy, the Great Manipulator, the Great Traitor to Life. Yet it was not it that caused the Timespace Event that triggered the Timespace Transformation. It is here, causing more imbalances, for which one could be grateful for in a way for it allows 'us' to also intervene though in a careful manner. The Great Enemy is also being careful in its own form of barely ordered chaos. I will complete your work here and you will go and join Armstrong, the Eternal Seeker, for he will need your assistance. His wife, Amanda, is pregnant and will give birth to three special triplets. Ye, you will be needed in more than one way. Go now!"

The second LittleFatWoman was suddenly there, almost as if she had always been there. She sighed softly, like a light soft breeze. There was something about her more real than reality but also less real than reality. This one was of the true LittleFatOne, the Eternal Originator. "Very naughty to pretend to be me, Eternal Fool, and extremely unwise. By its very nature the Eternal Guardian could never be fooled by such a trick."

The fake LittleFatWoman shimmered and became a disfigured, distorted, hulking humanoid in bizarre armor and a cape that danced lightly with non existing winds. He held a great twisted staff that had its butt on the floor and its tip that kept changing shapeform, appearances, in a way that would disorient many. Things scuttled out of its armor and then vanished just as quickly. The smell was amazing, being an incredible array of every changing odours, many being unpleasant.

The Eternal Manipulator spoke with apparent rasping difficulty. "Not my choice until my choice was changed for me by my Lord Master Enslaver Beloved who punishes me for my goodness and badness. Go there, he-she-it speaks to the depths of my ecstatic despair, and test that one aspect of the Eternal Guardian. Report then your experience. Dare to become the LittleFatWoman for it bemuses me to put you in deep threat."

The LittleFatWoman sighed again. "It will be the Grand Manipulator that will be punished by GodGodess of the Balances. Be glad you escaped this punishment being added to the multitude of needless punishments you put upon yourself. One day you will escape from the Great Manipulator but at that timespace moment your struggle will really begin. Go!"

With a howl of despair, and joy, the Eternal Manipulator vanished almost as if it had never been there.

Hunting Down Conspiracies

Gravet Maharg frowned softly. "You always call me 'sweetness' and not 'sweetie'. Would you want me to go and assist Armstrong, aspect of the Eternal Seeker?"

The LittleFatWoman nodded. "Yes because the Eternal Manipulator has altered the flow of events, thanks to the Great Traitor to Life, I will remain here and fix matters with the ancient AraArtifacts as much as I am allowed to do under these circumstances. This whole surviving AraNetworks, of this Timespace Relativity, will become greatly more stable and will stop producing glimmerpods. That will be of great assistance but will far from solve all troubles that are taking place. Sweetness, I want you to take this to Armstrong and Amanda."

She passed to him a rainbow globe that looked like metallic substances had been knitted into a shapeform and then compressed tightly into a smooth sphere. It fitted neatly into her hand but it was far more than it appeared to be. He made it vanish.

He smiled, nodded. "I will see you soon enough in the Eternium."

Then he vanished almost as if he had never been there.

The LittleFatWoman went and began to carefully do as she had promised to do. In less than an hour her work was done and then she vanished, almost as if she had never been there, but she left behind some special entities to carry out some special tasks.

I accidentally spoke of the Lone Gunmen, and Dogget, as both being in Ayers Rock (Uluru) and arriving there at the same time. They are already there; the second Lone Gunmen are replaced by the Anderson Family Team and the second Dogget is replaced by Monica Reyes.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 79.1[121]

Hunting Down Conspiracies

There were plenty of people working at the Ayers Rock (Uluru) site, that is the amazing complex of cave chambers, tunnels and other spaces inside it. Azorines were there aplenty along with ANZUR folk, UN employees, XFF Agents, Torchwood Agents and others.

Through various means, legal and otherwise, the new United Nations Multiple Goods and Services Corporation, the UNMGS, had a small observation team there. The quasigovernmental corporation already was gaining a reputation for ruthless ambition, corruption and extreme political views. It had absorbed over a dozen UN agencies, and UN quasigovernment corporations, of less savory reputation but apart from taking their resources, it had also been taking outside support, some of it of a secretive nature.

Captain Jack Harkness, the undying man, observed cold eyed UNMGS envoys, scientists, bodyguards and others. Sasha Truman was both a Deputy CEO and a scientist of much reputation. She had achieved much in the way of securing cybertronic permancy with the meshing of cybernetic network-systems with organic nervous systems to avoid rejection and other problems. She was brutally efficient, lacking of ethics and was generally detested by animal rights groups and others like them.

Sasha Truman gave him a cold, hard, half smile. She was beautiful like some kind of ice maiden. "You are one that I would like to run a wide range of experiments on, man who can not die!"

Jack was tired of running into people who should not know about his secret but did so anyway. Thankfully the great majority of people did not do so. "From what I have heard of your kind of tests, no thanks. Why are you here? Surely you have access to other AraArtifacts, even AraComplexes."

She responded, coldly of course. "My tests are always of the most efficient, and effective, kind that have helped to end much suffering in the Known Ordered World. This place is special, very special. One can 'sense' it to be so. Ayers Rock is far more than a big oversized rock that fell slowly from the sky in a seemingly impossible manner, got buried and then exposed again over a vast length of time. It is a spaceship of some kind and we suspect that it is transdimensionally bigger inside than outside. We suspect that even the Azorines have managed to only explore a relatively tiny part of it though they have been here for over 100,000 years."

Jack shrugged. "We suspect the same but the AraAncients did not make mere spaceships. Your people are linked with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Harold Saxon, who is not what he appears to be on the surface."

She frowned coldly. "We do not serve that rogue TimeLord but we have an agreement with him. He is insane and beserk at times. We are of the Splinternet, we are the Anked of the true development, evolution, of humanity. We are the natural reaction to the unnatural rise of Unity."

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time 79.2[122]

Hunting Down Conspiracies

Jack grinned. "Unity would see it otherwise, perhaps as the opposite of your explanation." Then he lost his grin. "You iceminds are always ready to trade so what would you trade for regulated, limited, access to this AraComplex? We, of Torchwood, have regulated, limited, access and the same is true for others."

The woman frowned hard. "Our kind used to control UmbTek. We built it up from nothing. We ended its research-development links with undeathly forces. We made it a powerful, wealthy and influential corporation. Then we were purged from the corporation with a few of us being killed and most of us being forced to depart with what ever we could take with us. We did keep control of a large portion of resources and most of those belong to the new corporation now. UmbTek compensated us for the losses that we suffered and an agreement was formed to end hostilities but we are not 'pleased' about what took place."

Sasha gave a cold scowl at the irony of her next words. "We are more at home with Unity, in its many forms, than we are with what took over UmbTek. They are living-vampires, created by experimentations with the T-Virus that was, in truth, far more than just a virus but a virus like entity disguised by that designation. They are not of the undead or the unlifen but a form of necrolifen. They come in different 'castes'. The T-Virus creates zombie like creatures that are more accurately known as zallites. There are also smarter, more empowered, living-vampire vollites and hulking, monstrous, nullites."

Sasha: "There are similarities between the T-entities and the necrovat created necrolifen as linked to the works of the infamous Professor Frakenstein. UmbTek has also experimented with necrovat reanimants like the two 'necronauts' they sent to Lunar Orbit. The irony is that we iceminds, though we were supposedly in tight control of UmbTek, did not know about any of those research-development projects that took place."

Jack nodded. "Before it was UmbTek, it was the International Investment Company, the IIC."

The icemind frowned. "We know of the IIC but please continue."

Hearing an icemind use the term 'please' was an ironic experience. Jack grinned mildly. "The outbreak of zombies, in Ayers Rock City, was caused by the breakage of a pipe. Glimmermist escaped into one of the walled districts but the situation was contained quickly and efficiently. We now know that the pipe was feeding off glimmerpods that were produced by one of the AraArtifacts in the Ayers Rock AraComplex. We have found a large chamber full of glimmerpods and one of them is half empty. The chamber was not used for many decades before our people rediscovered it with Azorine assistance."
