Hey, I wanted to announce that I uploaded the BETA test file containing 15 music tunes for the 30 I have gathered, they are the ones that me and the other Author of the file decided needs no editing, we put them on the Nexus to ask what people think about them and How would they like to change them and so on.

If you are intrested in helping please send me a message or post your application here. Or if you just want to see the file and so on here it is :

Okay, I like a lot of this stuff. Battle 01 in particular gets my blood going. I'm playing it on loop right now. Well done!

But, I have some constructive criticism with some of the other tracks. There are a lot of synth and electronica sounding parts which don't belong at all. I know it gives it a different feel, but only if the rest of the game had that. I for one think it would be awesome if the Oblivion Realms were more of a techno-medieval hybrid. At that point, some of it would work. But as of right now, it reminds me of Metroid which is bad for this.

That's me though. The tracks are there for those who like that, but I would advise steering away from that in the future.

Another thing that I don't really care for is chanting. I know I'm in the minority with that, but it's just so overdone. But these tracks, especially the battle and atmosphere tracks have so much else that works so well. The dungeon tracks too are really cool, even with the synth.

Do you know about Better Music System?

It overhauls the music programming in the game. Every time another music pack is released for this game, people have it geared toward the standard 4 folders, and there's so much more than that now! In particular, it adds different folders for new locations, like the Oblivion Realms themselves, the very namesake of the game, that is not honored with it's own music!!! Well, now they can have their own tracks, and your battle music is absolutely perfect.

I think you should familiarize yourself with this mod and think about what kinds of music you can get for every new location in the game. Forts, Aylied Ruins, Gate Realms, Castle Halls, Houses, Inns, Factions, everything.

All in all, I'm a fan of these tracks.

Yes, I know about the BMS, as I said before, this file is a test only to get some ideas and opinions, and I must say I'm really glad to have heard yours. I have considered making every town and place have their own music, I are working hard on that and there are 20 other tunes "Under Construction" right now.

I was about to ask some modders how to place special music in every town and place. Though I also considered using Better Music System.

The tunes on right now are mostly for the people to get the taste of me and Vesemir's work, it still needs a lot of progress. Another main reason as you see is to get other opinions and ideas on it.

Thanks

Did you and Vesemir compose these tracks, or did you find them and edit them? If you composed them, and you have master files with layers, of all the tracks with chanting and synth, you should release versions with and without.

I also really like atmosphere_04. I have it assinged to Night in BMS, and it's really, really fitting.

No, we searched around the web for the past 2 weeks, collected some music, Most of them are edited and cut and changed, expect tow 2 and 3 and the the Battle musics.

I am still considering using BMS, but we still need other peoples thoughts.

Dear testers,

the survey file's here.

please read it carefully, fill it up and send it back.

how to send it back? easy.

first, archive the filled form with WINRAR or something else.

then click the "reply" button in the bottom of this page. there you will either see an "Attatch file" button, or a browse button, depending on your settings.

attatch the archive there, click the blue "add to post"button(down-right corner of your reply page), then post it.

thank you for your time,

-Ves

I'm sorry my friend but my computer just won't let me archive and attach the file here. Everything appears to be in order, you should keep all the files, move nothing, edit nothing, and most of the songs are tens. If I could send you the report I would but unfortunatley technology has let me down, and i'm pretty sure I let you down.
