Switch
I'm just wondering if anyone has figured out a trick for preventing dialogue from disappearing from the screen too quickly when there's no voice acting involved. It's quite annoying, and I've had to start chopping my dialogue up into bitesize pieces so that people who can't read at 100mph can still understand it. Any solution so that you can have a paragraph on screen without it disappearing after 3 seconds would be greatly appreciated. ^^
Adras
Read faster ^_^ I have not had any problems with the text going too fast. When you say that no voice acting is onvolved, what do you mean? Is that when they are talking, but their voice doesnt work, or something else?
SoulBlazer_87
You mean no sound and no movement by the character in question? If so don't know but usually I press [Esc] which pauses the conversation but does not cancel it. This gives me as much time as I need to read all the details. It might not be the best way but it works.
mezlo
Check out Intermittent Silence MP3s by Domhnall. According to the description, it is a pack of silent MP3s ranging from 10 seconds to 4 minutes. They might help with your timing issue. Mez
Switch
Thanks Mezlo, but I already tried that and it makes no difference. There's no option to run mp3s during dialogue that I can see. Just to record or get info from wav files. And yes I was talking about when there's no sound or movement, basically when you add dialogue without recording a sound file to go with it. I didn't know about that ESC trick though, sounds handy. Maybe I'll just include that in the readme file... a fix is preferrable but still, thanks. ^^

Just to record or get info from wav files. Have you tried converting the MP3s to WAVs then using them? There are an untold number of programs which will do this, including WinAMP which has a waveOut plugin. Another option would be to just do a recording for however long you want but don't plug in a mic so that it just records silence. I haven't tried this but in theory it should work. Switch
Tried it and tried it. Sigh. I even told it to get the lip info from the 30 second wav file. The lip file increased 20x in size but still no joy. Recording does nothing when you don't speak. The 2 second cut-off point seems to be hard-coded (silly Bethesda). Thanks for your suggestions regardless. ^^
mezlo
Here is a Video Tutorial showing how to use existing MP3s for dialogue in the CS. I found it somewhat difficult to follow because of the speed, but hopefully it will help you out. Mez
