I like the Conan/Hyborian "universe" and Oblivion let's me play in the style of Conan very closely. I have found the following modifications to be helpful in creating an environment that makes Oblivion more closely resemble the Conan world (at least the movie equivalents).

 

I've also listed some "wish list" items that do not exist yet. Some DNE items are actually in development by Waalx and friends. I'm very excited to see what he will bring to the table.

I always wondered what it would be like to play KotOR in first person.. What about a Star Wars total conversion mod?

 

Lightsabers (blue, green, red, violet)

Force powers (push, pull, jump, lightning, heal etc)

Jedi/Sith robes (enchanted?)

Training with Jedi/Sith masters

Trainable padawans/apprentices

Republic/Empire/Jedi/Sith factions

Ranking of padawan, jedi, master etc

Wookies, Twi'leks, and Jawas oh my!

Vehicles - Banthas, Dewback, Tauntaun, hovercar, walker, x-wing?

Locations - Tatooine, Kashyyk, Coruscant, Hoth

Robot companions/packmules

NPC characters - Yoda, Darth Vader, Obi Wan, Leia etc

Tusken Raiders instead of bandits?

Wampas instead of ogres/trolls?

Actually this is already in progress, provided they have not received any legal warnings, you can find it on the official forums.

This is a list of mods that i would like to see out someday and i do not see any of these mods out currently. this is the reason why i posted this request here if you have N E one with ability and desire to help with the vision i had; to come online and make a awesome post about how i see oblivion.

1, i would like to see a mod for Sunder and Keening Wraithguard, maybe a smuggler smuggled them in from morrowind and now askes a high ransom for their safe return. so when they are secure then nevar sends you a message that you can use the tools untill he returns to get them.

 

2, Levitation Spell but it will only work with number three as well on my list so then i can just land in the IC

 

3, Complete Open Cities mainly for the levition mod

 

4, Cliff Racers and other Morrowind Animals around the Morrowind Border, to add a realistic wildlife feature and add more alchemy.

 

5, similiar effects for the other borders.

 

6, DVD Expansions that add more content to the game that doesn't alter the main game and or mods ex another providence.

 

7, WEREWOLVES, as a disease and maybe the hircenes ring could be added to the game

 

8, Lich Servents while your a vampire. failed victems that you tryed to feed from, they died and became your lich servents forevermore.

 

9, New Race called Dragon Riders based off of the book Eragon read the book for more info on powers and abilities and a new flying mount dragon with her own abilities and companion share.

 

10, Staff that acually can attack by means other than magicka, but it could still retain the other option of wether or not to launch spell through it via spell menu plus additional effects if you attact the traditional style of blunt weapon ex. fire damage.

 

Thank you for your posting of this thread. all of this is possible but i just don't have the knowhow or the software to compete these things but definately possible. so if their is any eragon fans out their that are an acomplished modder. feel free to be up to a challenge of creating these mods or even just one of them (Dragon Steed) ...

 

p.s. you could name the dragon saphira and she could be blue and shiny.

A Request...

 

I bothers me that when you go from the Imperial City Temple Area to the IC Waterfront Area, you click on the doors you are ( poof) teleported up or down the hill, a few hunderd yards. If you look behind the IC Waterfront door going up, there is a tunnel aready there. Instead of magically being teleported, it would be much more realistic to have to walk up or down a stairway built into the hill.

 

It would be great if someone made a mod to make a tunnel with stairs, up and down from the Imperial City Temple Area to the City Waterfront Area, to add realism to the Imperial City, I'm sure lot's of people would add it to there game if it was available.

Some new mod ideas....

 

More Creatures: Giants (frost,fire,earth,sky,water,elemental,etc)

Dragons (same types as giants)

Undead (lich,better zombie/skeletons,wraiths,

'were' creatures,undead animals etc)

Water creatures (new fish,snakes,alligators/crocs.,

more crabs/shell fish etc)

 

More Potions/Bottled items: Juices that heal/harm

Beer (new types/styles/flavors)

Wine (also new types/styles/flavors)

Water (bottle for the adventurer on the go)

Useable Kegs/Vats/Bar Taps

New bottle sizes, such as vials,juggs, etc..

 

More Harvestable items: More Vegetables types

More Fruit types

More of the 'Other' ingredients

A more complete 'Gardening' system. Make

it required to 'water' crops and build an

irragation system or crops die.

 

'Gambling' system: Using existing mods and add Casinos,

Brothels etc

 

Squire mods: Who else is going to take care of your

Horse???

 

Apprentices: Level and gain skills according to YOUR

actions...Hence you are 'training' them

 

Alingments: Though there is a 'Racial' mod based on

the different 'races' disliking/liking each

other, it would be nice to have the

Alingment factor...

 

Body Wounds: A mod that leaves visible scars and battle

wounds on the character.

 

Item Crafting: A more indepth approach to item creation.

Retro has provided us with a start, but we

need to expand upon that - ALL items

craftable like clothes, jewerly, weapons,

armor, beer/wine, furniture, homes, ships

masonary, etc...

 

Pets and Familiars: An attempt has been made but not really

finished. Familiars can be used with the

Ranger and Druid class.

 

Horse Items: We have SaddleBags but we now need

carriages, wagons, chariots, plows etc..

Basically things horses carry or pull.

 

New Arena: Jousting matches, Gladiator fights etc...

 

Ownable buildings: Stores, Churches, Bars, Arenas, Stables

can be purchased and maintained, which

could add Quests/Items along with them.

First point of order: Yes, I just signed up and this is my first reply. I'm trying to be sensible, but if I'm doing anything wrong, let me know. I've read the thread, so if any of this has already been mentioned, just blame it on me being a bit dim after a nap.

 

Mod request: Something to prevent vampirism from altering the shape of a character's face.

Reasoning: I don't actually mind this in principle, and in Morrowind I rather liked the new faces, but I tend to play very gaunt characters and vampirism makes them look almost flabby. Especially around the neck. I've tried altering the shape in-game but it just changes right back again. So; something to prevent vampirism from changing the shape of the face please. I don't mind about the colouring.

 

I'd also like to second the request for actual staves, as opposed to what are essentially big wands. I'd actually expected this to have been done by now. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough...

This is a simple request:

 

A mod to toggle the crosshair off and on with a bindable button. Or simply make the crosshair appear only when the player's weapon is drawn. I find the crosshair greatly impedes immersion and it's annoying to go through the menu system to turn it off and on. I expect this will be slightly easier than a Star Wars total conversion mod...
