Malchik
According to the note in the chest found on the external part of the ruins of this fort, there is treasure to be found half a mile north east 'just past the big rock on the right'. I have tried to find it, unsuccessfully so far, but don't really have much idea about how far half a mile actually is in game terms. There is a doomstone in that direction is that too far or not far enough?
Dilvish
You're ahead of me in quests. I believe the Romans defined the mile as 1000 double steps. Each of their double-steps was 5 feet. Maybe a half mile is about 500 double steps in the game? A hypothesis anyway.
ThetaOrionis01
If it says 'north east' I'd go looking south and west for it... directions in this game are notoriously unreliable...
Malchik
Actually it says 'the sword points the way' and the sword points north east so I hope they have it right!
Rhydderch Hael
I dropped by Fort Coldcorn today, and was able to find the "treasure" quite easily. I only call it "treasure" here because it was in a chest that could only be unlocked by the key I found there by the sword. What I found inside couldn't fit the description in any possible way. Stupid note about me having taken the unbeaten path— and a Steel Dagger. That's it. :glare: Something must have gone terribly wrong with my incarnation. The sword that points the way is a Fine Steel Longsword. The item I found was a plain Steel Dagger. What does it say about the quest when the clue is more valuable than the prize itself? I swear, the next character I make is going to be named (and modelled after) Charlie Brown. With the luck I'm having... o_O By the by, just line up with the sword and start running until you reach the edge of a deep gully. The "big rock" looks more like a bunch of boulders than a single rock, and the chest is tucked around the other side.
